Minny trying to be sly and unload Roy's contract. Small market team like the Nuggets can't afford to pay off that contract. Roy is done.

Roy only has 1 yr left on his deal and Denver probably could receive a disabled player exception should he not play again....

The trade would keep the Nuggets under the Tax this year still and potentially next yr depending on what kind of deal Iggy signs if re-signed and what other moves they make. There isn't much difference between $67mil and $70mil you realize this right?

This has everything to do with Massai once again knowing what it takes to be a good GM and establish value and/or acquire value from other teams when doing trades.

Karl also wants as many big bodies as possible in the event they have to play OKC/Spurs in the playoffs. The point you miss Mozgov has now been officially valued for a 1st rounder and hasn't done much in Denver. Meanwhile we simply through him in the Melo deal.

so its great to keep a big man that you are not going to lose and get nothing for him when they release him in the offseason? That is ridiculous and laughable someone would believe that.

I think they should trade 1 of Mozgov or Koufos, point is they've established value for 1 of them as of now for sure. You can still work a S&T in the summer if necessary.

Same logic with hanging on to Shump who will never see his full potential here and could leave with nothing to show to grow elsewhere. We've established value for Shump too point is he came in a decent 1rst and that's about where his value is now, the difference for us we're in "WIN NOW MODE".

Shump is not a FA and "full potential" stuff is fluff. You don't know what he will reach here. You don't even know what kind of player he is. His chance to reach his potential is as good here as it will be at other places.

Not as currently constructed and how the coach manages the team. Let's say we all truly feel his potential is 17/4/3 he's not reaching that on this team but could elsewhere most certainly given a real chance a al Earl Clark style.

But to get back on point about Denver and Massai...

The Brooklyn Nets have sent the Atlanta Hawks an offer of Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, and either a future first-round draft pick or the rights to Bojan Bogdanovic.

Hope to god the Hawks don't accept this trade. The Nets then become serious players

C: Brook Lopez.
PF: Josh Smith.
SF: Gerald Wallace.
2G: Joe Johnson.
PG: Deron Williams.

That looks to be a scary starting 5 (on paper). Really hope Brooklyn doesn't end up with Josh Smith...

Wow that would be a great deal for OKC. He would compliment Ibaka nicely and give them the low post scorer they need.

yep, good catch 3g, and not only that, but now that denver turned that deal down, they can always revist it, establishing that moz has value of a first round pick... well played denver...
