also, I have never made a negative comment about Melo or Amare. Not that I don't have them but, there really isn't any NEED to. We all see the games, we know what weaknesses we have. I don't feel the need to bring them into every thread just to counter the positive posts within.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

This isn't done in every thread at least not be me. This is the first time I've seriously talked specifically about trading Amar'e.

He's 2yrs removed from the Mr. Phenomenal consecutive 30pt scorer Amar'e. Has he been better than that Amar'e? No! Is he playing a bench role? Yep! Has he undergone another significant knee procedure? Yep! Is he getting older? Yep! Has he lost lots of athleticism? Yep! Does he do anything better than he's done in Phx in terms of rebounding/blocking shots/defending? Nope! Is Melo going anywhere anytime soon? Nope!

So what else do you have besides contracts aligning up as to why we should keep him for another 2yrs?

It's kind of like Danny Ainge commenting about Paul's Pierce's legacy with Celtics and retiring as one....

"Hey we all love Paul and understand what he's meant to this franchise over his career. We would love for him to retire a Celtic and we know that's what he wants. We're not making calls on Paul but should something present itself I'd give Paul a call. I have to do what's best for the Celtics franchise and guys on this team understand this."

Do you even watch the games?!

And all this 'we need to get rid of his contract' talk, has been misguided since the day it began. I agree that I live in fear of him getting injured again or needing microfracture surgery, but at the end of the day Amar'es contract makes very little difference to us as we'll be over the cap, or right around the cap, whether he's on it or not.

No ones going to trade anything of value for him due to the injury risk involved, so at best you're looking at an older, more declining Gasol who has knee issues to save one year's worth of salary, which will make no difference as we'll be at the cap anyway?

I'm really happy Amar'e's hard work has paid off- a lot of players get mentally crushed by playing in NY, but he took the mindless criticism and bounced back.

but yours was the only negative voice in the whole thread that has been going on for a couple of pages. Do you know how that makes you look? You likely had no intention to Troll but, that's how it came across.

Good for you you don't make those negative comments in threads. My comments weren't "only negative" I acknowledged Amar'e's good play and actually painting a hopeful picture he may be developing trade value.

So I should have started a "Hey Let's Trade Amar'e" thread? This would have been less trolling?

As far as Smackdog's posts while I agree it's a little getting ahead in thinking Amar'e has respectable trade value right now/today, you never know that's why I qualified it with "if he keeps this level of play up" and yes I've watched the games except for Sac and Orlando(games in which he was perfect from the floor ironically....lol) it only makes what I'm saying more hopeful theoretically.

You do remember Boston traded Perkins after giving him an extension and blowing out his knee in the Finals for Jeff Green following season(deadline).

Matter of fact I think Perkins was still hurt/recovering from injury when he arrived in OKC after the trade.

OKC traded Harden for Martin and Martin ended the season prior in Houston injured and on a bad note with Kevin Mchale. A solid player with injury history.

Here I am bringing solid "backable" facts to the table

I don't think anyone has ever questioned Amar'e's mental toughness and approach to the game. That being said wanting to trade him at this time(although probably unlikely) is not the UltimateSin of thought some of you are trying to make this out to be.

It is misguided because Dantoni destroyed their value. His inability to adapt to the rosters strengths as Woodson has essentially divided the entire knicks fanbase. That is why people hate melo and amare so much. Things will turn around slowly. It wont happen overnight but knicks players will get respect again. Especially after a better showing in the playoffs

I am so glad that he's gone. Dude would shoot himself in the foot just to spite hit big toe. Heck, he didn't even want to hire Woodson and got salty when it was suggested he might want to hire a defensive coordinator.

Dude refused to play N8 after he won the dunk contest as if he'd done something wrong. To make matters worse, N8 had been playing well before the break so...wtf was up with that. Refused to give Steph a chance despite our lack of guard play. At the very least he count have tried to up Steph's value so we could maybe move him. Dude just seem to love to carry a grudge and it didn't matter if it hurt the team or not.
