5. "Honey nut cheereos"? Well thats better than "Capt' crunch" especially with them "Crunch berries" but im not sure what to make of it. Is "honey nut cheereos' really that good or that bad? How can the Commish really address this without laughing? Its pretty damn funny if you ask me. Childish. Even more so the way Melo reacted. Please tell me there is more to it?

We don't know exactly what was said and what wasn't. We don't know how far he went or even if the cheerios comment was a part of it. Also, we don't know that Melo went to see him to fight. Maybe he was there to tell him off or get something off his chest. Whatever the case may be, I agree that Melo should have handled the situation better. But you're letting KG off the hook here. There really are no rules to hold KG accountable in this situation but it doesn't mean that he should be given a pass to make abusive personal comments about people's families. People call it gamesmanship, but what about sportsmanship?

Question: is there a rule that says a player can not meet a player from an opposing team at the bus? Honest question here.

the distinction between sportsmanship and gamesmanship is a good one, i'll grant you that. in fact in basketball there's room for both... but there is no mandate for both.

i was reminded last night that garnett was trained by mchale. most posters don't remember the wars of the 80s. no love lost between rivals. red auerbach did not coach his players to be good sportsmen, and neither did red holzman. chuck daly did not coach his players to practice sportsmanship. they had a policy to mercilessly butcher jordan and they did. and you can bet doc rivers, who played during that era, has little interest in his players making nice with the opponent.

melo wants to be comfortable-- he wears body armor to stay comfy-- so the policy is to make him uncomfortable.

He's in exactly the same position that Pierce (team cancer) & LeBron (cant win the big one) was before they won. Becoming a champion and apparently washes away all warts

I just don't get why people think you have to fight back if someone makes a mean comment. I'd actually feel sorry for someone who was so disturbed that he had to make comments like KG did.

Bonn, when someone says something to me that I think is maybe a little funny or mean, I pummel him on the spot, I do not go to his bus stop and wait for the bus to come,

In all honesty, Melo comes out of this looking like a punk while Garnett, KG is what you know he is, a punk, and Melo let himself get punked by KG...if Melo had such a problem, should've layed him out on the court, not wait to go to talk to him later, there is no takling, there is only punching
