Are you from NY? This statement sounds like a fan from another state. Lin will not only get booed during the intro....He will get booed everytime he touch the ball. Unless the Garden is sold out with asian / Lin fans. NY'ers will be amped up, full of liquor....ready to scream there lungs out all game. Thats NY....

Linsanity did not make NY.....NY made Linsanity. We owe Lin nothing. If anything, I agree with another post that said we owe Kidd a standing ovation.....along with Tyson Chandler, for bringing that winning culture back to NY. And while we are at it, Woodson deserves the same love every game!

Lin is already in Knick history for ever....We turned him into a starting PG......We gave him the platform to have a successful NBA career.

Now we should give him a standing ovation? We gave him something that will help him for the rest of his life....Even after basketball; he will continue to have a strong fan base. And probably hook up with Spike Lee for a movie role.

Now what did Lin give us that’s even close to that level? It's not like we were an expansion team looking for marketing exposure. I don't think we needed more fans from Asia. If we did, they left when Lin went to Texas.

Does Lin deserve a standing ovation....No!
Does Lin deserve some credit for helping the Knicks make the playoffs....Sure!
Will Lin get booed during the intro and during the game....Of course!

NY fans will love you one day, and hate you the next....That’s the NY culture I'm accustom to since birth.

Think of it this way, Jeremy Lin started 25 games in New York.

This season, Jason Kidd has started around three fewer games than Jeremy Lin as a New York Knick. Kidd's highlights may not be as dramatic... however, the shot against the Nets was kinda tasty. Kidd's impact on the entire team has helped change the culture just as much - if not more than Linsanity ever did. Pablo and Felton are better. Tyson understands the angles better. Novak trusts Kidd. Some of Kidd's poise has even rubbed off on JR Smith. Amazing.

Lin was fun. Winning is priceless. After the opening tip, things get real.

Ehh, maybe not.

I would give TD a standing ovation. He was a classy kid that MDA completely messed up.

He started him at PG. Thats not messing him up, its called "AN OPPORTUNITY".

Its obvious his shoulder was not right.

So that is the problem with MDA.

All he needs to do is start a guy and walk away. The fact that he did not communicate with him or that he let TD lead the team in 3 point attempts while shooting a whopping 25 percent - all while he had a shoulder injury that inhibited his shooting ability.

Lets go! Lets go! Keep shootin Tony - don't worry that its not falling - we have a system and we must stick to it.

Did Red Sox fans give Roger Clemens a standing ovation when he returned as a New York Yankee?

Did Bucks fans give Kareem a standing ovation as a Los Angeles Laker?

Does Ray Allen (who won a ring in Boston), as a member of The Miami Heat, even get a handshake from Kevin Garnett?

Roger was with tornonto a few years. You give him an ovation first time back. Then its done.

Kareem won a chip in MIlwaukee. They should have cheered him at least once. His Number should be retired there.

Ray Allen? KG is a player. Last I saw Nobody here plays for the knicks. THis is about fans.

Give the Kid a 7second salute. The Mecca should show appreciation not show its petty. This is not Philly.

no defense for him. If your injury is hurting you team, you sit. Instead he started chucking up even more, completely blowing off Melo and Amare. But THAT ISN'T THE WORST PART. His shoulder had NOTHING to do with him dribbling aimlessly around in circles, refusing to pass until the clock was under double digits. What would he do then,....chuck up a bad shot or hand it off to Jarad. No defending this. Dude was allergic when it came to passing the ball to Melo or Amare.

Dude really only had one job, dribble up court and pass it off to Melo or Amare and he couldn't even do that.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

This I would do before giving lin props. I want lin to be humbled before our guards. Id like to see lin be 2-20,no fts,1 assist and 11 tos. I want him to go into the locker room at the end of the game crying. Just like ANY other guard in the league,I was us to step on his neck til he cant breathe anymore and to make him think for the next time he comes TO THE MECCA-MSG THIS IS OUR HOUSE

Well said. I myself personally wanna see Jeremy Lin fall flat on his face tonight. I want our guards such as Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd, J.R Smith, Ronnie Brewer and Pablo Prigioni to wipe the M.S.G floor with Jeremy Lin tonight. I also want Melo to drop 40+ on a night where Lin falls flat on his face; showing the basketball world who the real New York Knicks superstar was (and is).

If any Knicks player demonstrates any less intensity in defending Lin than the Miami Heat demonstrated last season, that player needs to be benched.

"He did an excellent job of bringing a lot of cheer. He brought a lot of great vibes to the city and just the arena in general. I had a fun time playing with him. 'So I don't know what his reception is, but whatever it is he's on the other side now, so he has to pay for that."

- Tyson Chandler

Destroy Houston.

19-5.

What? So does that say a lot about you too then? No, it doesn't. A bunch of fans at the game doing whatever only represent themselves and not every Knick fan in New York.

well it's going to be interesting to hear how much cheering and booing take place when he is introduced. and then when the game is in progress.

all i'm saying is ny fans are split about lin but why wouldn't you give him a nice hand when he's introduced? why would that be a bad thing and booing him be a good thing?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Much of what you blame him for is on MDA. Do you think MDA told him to bring up the ball and hand it to Amare? NO! OF COURSE NOT! He wanted him to run a system that he was incapable of running.

I say you just treat him like any other player. Lin can get a nice cheer during the intros or whatever but once the game starts I want the MSG crowd to be rooting for the home team. Im not stupid though. I know there will be a lot of fans there specifically to see Lin play.

Like I've stated, the only PG's who deserve a standing ovation from our Madison Square Garden faithful are Raymond Felton and Jason Kidd. Especially Raymond Felton, who as our starting PG has Jeremy Lin beat within just about each and every statistical category known to the PG position.

Ray: 18-5 overall. 16.3 points, 6.7 assists & 2.4 turnovers per game. FG% of .403%. Player Efficiency Rating of 16.9.

Lin: 11-12 overall. 10.8 points, 6.0 assists & 2.7 turnovers per game. FG% of .395. Player Efficiency Rating of 13.2.

So yea, the only PG's who deserve a standing ovation are Felton and Kidd.

The allstar voting will only add fuel to the fire already filling opposing point guards

His confidence has to be at an all time low and I want to feel sorry for him but, once you agree to be on those Sports Illustrated Covers and accept the accolades tossed your way, you loose the empathy of people like myself.

If Jeremy Lin deserves a standing ovation for making us smile, does Toney Douglas deserve extra applause for playing while injured?

Go Rockets.

Yeah thats actually pretty true. The sad part is the ones sitting that close usually aren't even that big fans of the team. I remember one game a girl was sitting court side with her mom and she was texting the whole time and not even interested. If I was sitting that close I think i'd take out my phone once to brag to everyone on my contact list and then never take it out for the rest of the game.

Papabear Says

If Lin was offered 25 million from the begining and the Knicks refused I would then give him a props and thank him for being a Knick. But since he really didn't want to come back to the Knicks why should I stand up for him. I won't Boo him but I damn sure won't stand up for him.
