I knew the day he was hired in NY as an assistant he was going to replace Danphoney someday.

playa2 - notice how well Atlanta is playing without Joe Johnson?

Timing is everything.

Mike Woodson and Darrell Walker are legacy Knicks. They played here and understand the culture. The international scouts are strong. The Assistants are on the case. Ben Jobe gives the scouting staff the benefit of decades of basketball innovation. SSOL is nothing but a marketing hook. Ben Jobe INVENTED the uptempo style of play that the pros mimicked. (Yes, nixluva, you could look it up before you defend the dude who is gone)

Ben Jobe invented it.

Actually if you looked at the win shares and wins produced, it would not be surprising that losing Joe Johnson would have little impact.

Woody has to at least to the NBA Finals to achieve more than MDA has in his career. Let's keep things factual unless you all just want to remain ignorant of the facts. MDA went to the WCF's twice in the toughest conference in the league at the time.

When his gimmick was still new to everyone, what has he done lately ?

I agree with your stance on this completely - which is shocking because I'm not really a fan of 's brand... but like you say, facts are facts

Obviously it is early but dantoni hasn't won back to back games as coach of the lakers. There is drama and the same we have to wait sentiment that was thrown around here for four years. I think he is right to regret leaving Phoenix. He was in the perfect situation to be successful despite his flaws. I don't think he has that in l a. There certainly is enough healthy talented players to expect a record better than 4-6.

This is kind of a silly convo. Clearly woodson is a better fit for melo and this roster. But pringles "gimmick" offense is being used by some pretty damn good coaches: including greg popovich and by uhhhh mike woodson?

Also peep the article on melo being one of the best pick n roll scorers in thr league. Seems like hes not beinv used that way much. Author guessed maybe woody is saving that for a bg moment in gbe playoffs when geams think well just go to the good ol melo iso to close out a tight game

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

J. R. Smith just said his relationship with Woodson is the best player/coach relationship he has ever had.

I love that they get along but I'm kinda sick and tired of hearing Hahn glorify it so much. What is the reason he didn't respect George Karl and his other former coaches?

Not sure about Karl. He was there with Iverson. It might have been a lot for a coach to manage.

I don't know it just seems like the new york media is forcing it down our throats like they often do. The guy is what he is. He is still the same erratic 40% fest or famine shooter
