What do you mean he's not fat anymore?!

apparently not. Not only did he get in shape BUT... he's going to do whatever the team needs. Im suprised with this level of leadership we need a coach at all. Just let Herb run the thing and use the money the Knicks could have saved on Woody's contract for more Melo booblehead doll nights at the Garden.

So you're criticising him for being in great shape and saying the right things now? See, I'm genuinely not a Melo fan (more of a Amar'e fan), I'm neutral on the man, but the over the top hate for him makes these boards a chore to read sometimes. I get that you hate him, and I'm sure you have great reasons, but why not save the criticism for when he actually does something wrong?

that was sarcasm. What makes the board hard to read are 15 page threads of Melo fans demanding recognition that

I fully expect the Knicks to win a lot of games this year. I also expect Amare to be the best player on the team. I also expect Felton/Amare to be very sharp out of the gate. I lastly expect Melo to take a slightly lesser role, become more one of the guys and that will be great.

Of course we will have to listen to and pay homage for the great sacrifices Melo is taking to win these games and make teammates better but at least there will be winning basketball so who cares.

LOL, doesn't this make you an Amare Jock rider???

You can hope and pray for everything, but this is going to a great year for the knicks and Melo is going to be the lead dog.

yeah, take a positive and turn in into a negative. Melo has improved his conditioning but, that doesn't mean he WAS poorly conditioned in the past.

In seasons past I never saw him huffing and puffing, struggling to get up and down the floor. Not everyone needs to be a LeBron-like physical specimen Take Zach Randolph for instance. Flabby arms but one of the top Power Forwards in the league the past few seasons.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I dont know am I? Do I post on every thread about how great Amare is? Do I constantly excuse Amare's shortcomings and past failures?

I like Amare because he came here when nobody would. I like him because he was a leader on the court for our young players. I like Amare because he led the 4th qtr in scoring and we were winning big games against elite teams with a very very young group. Seems more like being a fan over jock riding but only Melo lobbyists would really know

True, but I'm glad Melo's realised that he's reached the age where he needs to start taking better care of his body. I'm always amazed at how well Zach Randolph has done despite his lack of conditioning, but even so it seems like its starting to catch up with him.

showing up in shape isnt a positve. Thats some seriously low standards. The coach he professed his love for after quitting on the last one was the guy who said Melo needs to be in better shape. So the guy shows up in shape and its time for a parade. Wow... ok man.

Not to single you out, but the people waiting for Melo to do something get irked by this stuff. This is exactly what Im talking about. Seems to me your turning a negative into a positive?

A $20mm a year athlete showing up in great condition isnt something that should be celebrated. Thats just me.

Marbury was also our best player for a few years. Did you support him?

No.. Melo isnt Marbs, not even close but after a decade of losing the blind love is gone. Gotta earn it and let me say its not that hard.

Also Amare is the best player. In 3 weeks you will be reminded why his teams have playoff success and Melo's havent. People here have incredibly short memories.

We should all support our players HOWEVER you cant get on people for making valid points. Melo looks great now but does have a lot to prove to us this year. If we win a title he will get the credit but if we lose in the first round again then he will hear it

Oh.......am I suppose have your posting history on Amare or is this a rhetorical question??

I'm pretty sure what you consider "being a fan" when it comes to Amare is the same to "Melo Jock riders".

I would add though nobody cares to attack Amare over and over again in this forum because he is what he is. Most wouldn't mind if he was traded, or coming off the bench or starting, biggest point is they don't bring him up in 25% of their post through the forum.

Serioulsy how many hits do you think Melo would have in your post history???

You said it, Melo isn't Marbury. I supported Marbury for the first 2 years however. Also, I supported Sprewell and Houston too, both all-stars for us, and Melo is much better than them too.
