The difference is that the US military goes through extraordinary pains to avoid harming civilians. The terrorists being celebrated hope to harm as many civilians as possible.

So they're not bad guys celebrating acts of evil, they're just passionate! Thanks for clearing that up.
When was the last notable KKK march or where can I find those really extreme Christians who want to wipe out all non believing countries?

Politically correct trash. On par with Reuters 'One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter'.

While I don’t consider everyone in the in the Middle East anti-America or radical, I’m very surprise every time I see thousands of extremist (including young children) celebrating in the street the killing of innocents in other countries and claiming for more of the same. I believe that’s the difference between them and us, here in the U.S. you don’t see the rapists or the murderers celebrating their evil acts in the street, our society definitely wouldn’t tolerate that.

Unfortunately they don't see those people as innocent or see them as acceptable collateral damage. We do pretty much the same- remember that "USA" chant and all the celebrations when Bin Laden got blasted. We also rationalize the killing of innocent people all the time- every war we basically decide that their deaths are acceptable in achieving our goals. At the end of every war, we have a little parade celeberating victory.

Culturally, in the middle east, there is more of an emphasis on exaggeration and passion- it's why fights always look so heated- you smash things, you shout, you make threats (you look crazy!), it's why these protests always look worse than they are. And plus for all the thousands taking part in the protests, there are millions of people who aren't- I don't get why people judge entire societies based on angry people shown on the news. It's like basing opinions on US society, on KKK marches or those really extreme christians who want to destroy all non-believing countries.

People are the same everywhere you go- the problem when you start looking down on other societies, or start judging everyone based on a a section of it, is you either cut yourself off from them, believing you can never get on with them, or you start using it to justify bombing the s*** out of them believing it's the only way they'll learn. In the past decade or so we've leveled Iraq, Afghanistan and let Israel flatten Lebanon. In the process we killed many, many civilians. A few soldiers raped and killed innocent civillians. In Guantanamo a few soldiers sexually abused and tortured prisoners. We've used torture as an acceptable measure during the 'war against terror'. Just like people did here from this side, other people in the middle east will look at all that and judge American society in the same way. Until both sides stop doing that (and it's not hard to stop doing), things will carry on going the way they are.

I totally agree, in the past decade our nation has committed a lot of atrocities around the world and this is why we are partially to blame for their resentment, however, I also believe that extremist will use anything to justify their hatred toward the West and the Anti-Islam Film is just an example of it.

People around the world should not judge our nation base on one guy’s movie, just like we should not judge an entire nation base on the extremist movements and their celebration of innocent people being killed. However, I will have to admit that if I see today, hundreds of thousands of KKK marching on our streets and claiming hatred, I would be seriously questioning our society as a whole.

Killing is killing- both sides come up with their own justifications, which they both believe are justified and right- unfortunately people who have very little to do with anything are the ones who get killed. And at the end of the day the military, despite attempts to minimise deaths, do reach a point where they decide people dying are acceptable collateral damage.

And the phrase 'one man's freedom terrorist...' Is absolutely true- Nelson Mandela was a terrorist to white racial supremacists in South Africa, while he was a freedom fighter to oppressed black people- that's just a fact. Unfortunately both decide its okay to kill people for their cause.

There is nothing in common between Arabs and African Americans.
Arabs are absolute majority in their countries and nobody is trying to oppress them contrary to majority in South Africa or minority in US.
For some reason they think that they have some right to tell us how we suppose to live in our country. They can say anything they want about us and they can kill any non-Muslim with no regret and be considered to be a Martyrs by majority of people.
We on other hand are not allowed to say a s..tt about their prophets and way of life. Interesting equation.
If we have all powers to bomb them to the stone age we are racist by definition.
Strong does not mean a villain and weak does not mean a saint.
If you facing the pack of wild dogs you must show you power and unload your weapons if you want to stand out for yourself, your family, you way of life.

Who's comparing Arabs to African Americans? You realize black people who were born in and live in South Africa are Africans, not African Americans, right? And I wasn't even comparing Arabs to them.

No ones oppressing arabs? Have you heard of Palestine? Also you realize arabs are not a homogenous group and there are different factions and ethnicities within them.

For some reason they think that they have some right to tell us how we suppose to live in our country. They can say anything they want about us and they can kill any non-Muslim with no regret

So all arabs do that do they, based on what you've seen on the news? And some Americans don't do that to them or any other country? Did you follow the cold war? Have you followed 'the war on terrorism'?

We on other hand are not allowed to say a s..tt about their prophets and way of life.

Oh come on, there are Christians in America who get just as frenzied when you insult their god- death threats, protests etc. And the these protests aren't even really about that film- it was just a spark that ignited due to the underlying anger over other issues. And then there were people who stepped in and manipulated the anger for their own ends- all of which are basic human traits.

Oh so now they're a pack of wild dogs now who must be killed to protect yourself, your family and your way of life. Congratulations, you now understand the mentality of the section of a society you have been arguing against.

1. There is no nation as Palestinians and there was no country like this ever, they are Arabs and they have their own State now where they can do whatever they want - mostly kill each other and lunch rockets and terror attacks against Israel (for which they are paid for by other Arab states to make some leaving.)
2. Not all Arabs are strapping suicide belts to themselves and mot all rioting in the streets but hundreds of thousand do and millions are supporting this.
3. I am talking not about us not being allowed to criticize Islam and Jihad but about the reaction this gets in Muslim world.
4. Free people must protect themselves and we do have Army, Police, CIA, FBI, National Guard, and power of Low to protect us from criminals am terrorists of all kind. I am glad we have this institutions and hope they will be at their best. Will support them as much as I can and will do my part if will be asked to.
5. And Yes - I am proud to be an American.

I have my arguments and facts. What arguments do you have?
It is easy to put racist-like labels on others but it is difficult to accept the inconvenient truth and provide meaningful arguments of any kind.
Give me some examples of any peaceful proposals from Palestinians and other Arab states to Israel? There are none.
All they say - the Israel must be removed from the map. Period.
Any propositions to solve the differences with US and the West? No. Only death to America.
Any attempt to provide equal rights to people of other religions and nations in Arab countries? No. They all Infidels.
Gays, lesbians should be stoned, women should stay at home as a complete slave to husband who can abuse them any way he wants. Etc.
Show me some bright side. Some examples of love and compassion to outsiders and people in need. It will be nice to hear this.

Really? Again...Which Christians got into a religious furor, rioted and killed foreign ambassadors? Where can I find (in your words) the population of extreme Christians who want to eliminate all non-believing nations? Insults upon Christianity happen daily and this kind of response is absent. You don't see this kind of thing with Buddhists or Jewish people either. The attempt to rationalize and equivocate everything is intellectually lazy and dishonest.

Very true... And this laziness and dishonesty is so common for liberals of all kind, our domestic and especially Europeans.
For some strange twist of mind they believe that if some people are not able yet to build civilized society, they must be abused and screwed by some "evil" forces.
The simple idea that the human race is not advancing evenly in every place makes them furious and they start calling people who do see the simple truth racist, Zionists, etc. without providing any argument or examples to prove their point. They are so disconnected from real live it is not even funny.
There are good forward thinking people in every nation but the question is who is running the show and how many of them are around for every specific place.
What we see in Middle East is the show running by dirty religious politicians and changing the front view from Muslim dictatorships to Muslim democracies do not change a thing. All they do is keeping the population away from education, public life, wealth, and work. This is how they rule.
