Lin says that "He" didn't go back and ask for more money. Probably true. But what about his new, more aggressive, higher profile agents. I'd be surprised if they didn't go back to Morey and tell Morey that the Knicks were going to match and that if he wanted Lin, he'd have to up the offer.

Jim Tanner of the Washington law firm Williams & Connolly was the shot caller. Roger Montgomery, Lin's former agent was brought on board in DC to reap the benefits of taking a flyer on Lin when he bouncing around summer league. Both wanted to get paid.

They got what they wanted.

Yea, thats just about what I thought. Dolan lied because he wants to paint Lin as a money grubbing glutton who is only out for himself as opposed to just a player who did what the Knicks told him, "Get the best deal and we will match."

I gotta say, thats pretty slick of Dolan.

As Lin keeps talking and tweeting about the haters?
indication of something went down as if he's trying to justify everything and anything negative since he left NY to Join Houston

The exercise of going out on the market is all Lin + Agent done. Its part of business
Knicks allowed it,

Houston had July 11 to fairly give NY opportunity to sign original premise of offer sheet which got re-vamped, changed, bamboozled ALL to embarrass Knicks
and persuade them from ever talking To Lin again.

The game playing began on both sides & Lin's agent led the show.
Plain & simple Knicks got hit by hooks & upper cuts from Smokin Joe Frazier & George Foreman

Later Knicks didnt respond too well

Well job Done ! Mr Lin + Agent
Mission accomplished !

I do agree that Dolan is a nut sometimes, but I don't think money is ever an issue with Dolan. The fact of the matter was that the Knicks match an initial contract, but somehow it revised. Let me guess without Lin knowing right? Just fast it, Lin is gone. If Lin really wanted to stay with, he would've never signed the second offer sheet from Houston. Do I blame Lin for signing a bigger offer sheet. No! I don't think any logical person would've let that much money on the table. Dolan is mad because he felt he was double timed. I did the same thing a few years back landing a job. An old boss wanted me to work for him when got a job at another company. I found another placed that was willing to play me $10k plus more a year. I told him I was taking the other job, and the I haven't spoke to the guy since. This was Lin's choice. We all have to live with it.
