Reminds be of the 90's if we were able to get past the bulls we would have at least 2 titles

One thing I like about Felton's interview..He spoke about pushing the ball and getting Amare involved...He spoke about getting Chandler and Melo the ball...Wow, a PG looking for his teammates, refreshing...Kidd will help as well setting guys up, I'm just not convinced he has much left in the tank...Lots of players with many reasons to be motivated..I like it...

He needed to give up 2 for the price of one?

He likes blowing people out of the water - its a macho showing that his boneheaded.

Amare - 4 years @ 80 would have been a breeze. WTF?

good to see your sticking to your agenda... go count the number of unsolicited anti MDA/Amare comments you make here. Funny stuff dude. A healthy Amare is a huge threat isnt it

I enjoyed the interview. Felton is in a good state of mind. He feels he has something to prove and is determined to do it. Also, he admits that his down season last year was his own fault.

Ray Felton: "I look forward to this year and shutting up everybody’s mouth."
JR Smith: "I got a great opportunity from the team to come in and help. I really think I didn’t do that last year. I think I got a lot to prove."
Carmelo: "I never played with Felton so I really don't know what to expect from that situation. I can't wait..."

Amar'e: Hazell
Tyson Chandler: "“I need a backup, and I think (Marcus) would be great in that position,”
Iman Shumpert: "I’m going to bounce back."

Jason Kidd: “looking at the roster, it’s a no brainer that (we) have multiple pieces and the right coach."
Steve Novak: “This is where he wanted to be,” said Mark Bartelstein, Novak’s agent. “He wanted to be back in New York.”
Marcus Camby: “It feels good to be back home,...now toward the end of my career I’m back to try and win a championship.”

Kurt Thomas: staying motivated after 17 years, it is habit
Pablo Prigioni: to validate his nickname on the NBA stage, "Mr Maestro if you please..."
Chris Copeland: East Orange is watching

A starting team of:

anyone other than Amare

Would be sick!!

so if amre came in and said the same thing, what then??

Said what?

everything felton just said only pertaining to himself...I mean your constantly bashing amre like his sitting aroung eating hot dogs and watch old reruns of "whats happing"

That is not the case - I saw him miss both playoffs and dealing with numerous injuries - I have low expectations for him staying healthy and explosive and would love nothing better than to be wrong. He is a good guy and we don't have to talk about defense ...

I just find it funny that he gets a pass from many of the MDAers/MeloHaters but thats fine - to each their own. MDA was very lovable and I understand how people are still pining for him and his brilliant non-ISO offensive.

The only person I hated on the knicks was TD and jeferies, and JJ turned it arnd and my opinion on him changed..

I don't give no one a pass who doesn't work hard and Amare is one of the hardest working players in the league..He's not that brightest on the defensive end, and his injuries have been self inflicted almost comical in some sense..but I don't think he's wash up or falling off and any shape or fashion..tough year, and we all expect more from him

The "he is not so bright on defense" is horse sh1t and you know it. I don't know who came up with that lame excuse buts its gotta go.

He needs to get that deadly J back if he has any shot.

Baron Davis was the only player last year that I hated - AND I FREAKIN HATED HIM SO MUCH!

dude i saw amare run all the way down court to get back on defense never once turning around til he was practicly under the basket..by the time he turned around the pg went coast to coast and was right on top of amare laying it in the hoop..had Amare look back for one second he would have easily made a stop..

It's not horse sht dude, his defensive IQ is low as hell..

This is the first time Amari is surrounded buy high defensive IQ players....Hopefully some of it will rub off on him.

Yes! I knew he'd come in with a chip on his shoulder. And he looks to be in better shape than I thought he would be right now.

I like this quote from Felton:

This will be the most talented team that Felton has ever played on. As a point guard, having weapons like Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler makes the job easier. However, Felton will also have to spread the ball around and make sure he’s distributing shots evenly. He says he’s ready to take on Anthony and Stoudemire, and run the offense as he sees fit.

“I’m a dog,” Felton said. “I’m a guy that’s not afraid of either one of them. I’m a guy where if they get mad and upset, I’m able to sit there and tame them. I’m going to let these guys know, ‘Look, I’m going to get you the ball. Just let me run this team. You all are going to get your shots

The problem with guys like Lin and Fields was that because they were so young, they always seemed to defer to Melo and Amar'e- Felton can pull them back into line if needed.

lins going to turn out to be a bargain..if it was 8mill per..no one would be sayin sht..

But it wasn't 8 mil per year. It was back loaded. Unless he is an all star or equivalent, he will not re-sign with the Rockets in year 4 for a significant pay cut. So the Rockets are stuck with Lin for over 14 Mil in year 4 and beyond, or he is three and out.

Based on the salary structure, the Rockets are gambling that Lin will be a top PG. Although Lin has more potential upside than Felton, the moneyball type move is Felton at $4+ mil. You are getting an average to above average starting PG at the salary of a quality back up. It will also be a very tradeable contract.

Some will argue that the Knicks have spent openly and recklessly on players of lesser quality and potential than Lin prior to this. It's certainly a valid point. But when you take into account all potential factors.......Luxury Tax, potential to re-sign Lin after year three, potential team discord that the Lin salary may have caused, Felton/Amare clicking two years ago, the Dolan Loyalty factor (Lin going back for more money while JR takes less to stay), 3 year team horizon then most of the slate wipes clean,...............not hard to understand why the Knicks chose to let Lin go.

Only, when we did, we lost.

Yes we know but the knicks would have won one of the other years i feel

The year it was theirs was the CHARLES FUKKIN SMITH play. Ouch - I did not want to think about that.

That was painful i hate Smith for that embarrassing sequence

That play scarred me for life

Wow! I forgot that Ewing passed him the ball. He never passed - probably did cause he was falling down

I found this on a NY Giants board - bbi

Talked to Raymond Felton
Giants : 7/22/2012 10:15 pm
today. He looks to be in good shape. I said you got your work cut-out for you with the talent on the team. There is a lot more talent then your last time with the Knicks. He agree there is more talent but said he will get it done. I wished him all the best.
Nothing special. I was just happy to see it looks like Felton will be in good shape this season.

Glad that he's getting in shape and motivated. To me it's a red flag though. The only thing you need to do in the off season is stay/get in shape to play the sport you love, and you can't even do that? To me that shows he's not mentally strong; he needs to be coddled and put in the perfect situation to succeed. There's nothing wrong with that. I think Woodson will be a great mentor for Felton and JR.

Reacing new lows everyday is part of being a Knick fan, some even take it to heart.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!
