Sorry to spoil it for you but the defense will collapse on Amare, force felton to shoot and felton will miss the shot wildly. As the opposing guards release the opposing rebounders pass the ball upcourt for a fastbreak high percentage shot. We have already seen how those felton Amare pick and rolls end. It was part of the reason we got rid of Felton, remember? Some Knick fans have really short memories.

You don't think Felton can find Novak in the corner like he found Shawne Williams?

What offense will we be running that allows him to get the ball to Novak? Amare, Anthony, and Chandler will all be hanging out inside of the FT line- not much room for the portly Felton to penetrate and kick out to Novak.

Have you ever typed an email at night, thought twice about it and saved it to drafts because you wanted to sleep on it? My advice is to use that approach here and wnen you wake up start your day reading Ken Berger's column.

Why does Lin get a free pass in this? I'm mad at Dolan, but I'm mad at Lin too- he absolutely screwed us. The timing of it, after we'd made all our roster moves, the complete lack of decency. They're both d***s. I actually like a lot of our team- Shump, amar'e, Camby, Kurt, novak and Felton- you know, guys that actually want to be here.

Berman made a good point- Lin signed with his new shark agent (after throwing his old one to the side) to capitalise on the NY market. Ha! Good luck with that now, hope he fades into obscurity.

I'll always be a Knick fan- when I watch other teams, I just get bored.

You know who the real troll is in all of this?

You. And people like you.

And yet you are still around here pa-trolling.

Can't get rid of you, like herpes.

Wow, what a despicable human being you are.

Why am I despicable? Because I voice my displeasure with Fairweather Knicks fans that threaten to leave because one guy leaves the team? Guy wasn't even the best player on the team.

And with your handle, FeltonandAmare, shouldn't you be more supportive of Felton's return?

We don't have a single player who has only been with the Knicks continually since 2009-2010. Many folks, especially those who like watching their younger players develop, or get excited when we pick up gems from the garbage heap (Lin and Novak), are dismayed with what Dolan has done to this team. Many of these people, including myself, are waiting for Shumpert to be traded, after he reestablishes some value on the market. I can't say I was happy with how Lin handled things through all of this- but he may have known or sensed certain things which we have overlooked, and realized our present regime did not truly want him back, despite our public comments. After all, our pursuit of Nash, and even Kidd, could hardly have been taken as a vote of confidence by Lin.

In only a few years, this team will start to break up, and we will have no younger players to move in to replace the group that is leaving because we have either gotten rid of them, or the draft picks which may someday turn into the new blood which rejuvenates a franchise.

I think we are going to go over the cap soon, even without Lin, and from what I have read, you are no longer able to do sign and trade maneuvers when you are now over the cap (am I incorrect here?), which further limits what we can do.

After about 3 years, I anticipate another period of time, perhaps 3-5 years, during which Dolan and friends scramble to put together a competitive team. It will be during this time that we once again start overpaying players in an attempt to keep up with the Joneses.

As I have stated before, the team we have is not going to win a title unless other teams lose people through injury. This team will has have little, if any, flexibility over the next few years. We will be a good team, and if everything goes perfect, we will cap out at between 50-53 wins, and an appearance in the second round. We have limited perimeter shooting and, at least as of the end of last year, limited shooting from the post, especially with our backs to the basket.

The is not a team that can win a title in the short term, and not a team that can give you a 50 wins/year potential for more than 2, and maybe three years... After that, we face another period of mediocrity, with an ownership you cannot trust to make the best decisions for the welfare of the team.

I can see why some fans have been so disheartened by what has happened, and why they have decided not to invest as much of their time and energy with this team.

Very sad times for the Knicks, IMO.

Jeremy Lin reconstructed his contract to make it harder for the Knicks to resign him.

Kid was more concerned with "getting his" than being here; bottom line.

My thoughts- beat it.

Feel good story, that was fun rooting for the underdog. Took the city by storm and had people who didn't know jack about the Knicks rooting. Awesome, really... But won't sway my love for this team one bit.

After a decade of drafting mistakes, $100mil contracts to jump shooters, Marbury (who was basically a functional retard), trading Ewing, McDyess in preseason, Isiah-gate and a list of poor decisions piled a mile high...

Still here, begging for more. Color me a sucker for drama.

shyt, I didn't start watching this team because of Lin, he had a nice minute in New York but, that all it was and as exciting as it was, it does nothing to alter my Love for the Knicks.

Anyone who's manlove for this guy is so great he'll stop supporting then they weren't real fans. Maybe they will become Houston fans to continue their Asian Bromance.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

this wasnt about Lin... it was about hope and basketball.

This organization pukes money, yet they opted to let a player who galvanized and saved their season for nothing. Nothing. If he irritated management they should have kept him and treated him like and asset, which could have yielded us a pick or a prospect at worst. Instead we get zero. Nada. Its pretty clear who Dolan loves and thats consistant with the other inept folks he's attached himself too.

Lin represented hope. He was a young point guard with upside. Our best guard. Our pest prospect. A guy who gave all credit to his teammates and placed all blame on himself. Makes sense why he didnt fit. Good luck Jeremy, I dont blame you one bit for not being a part of this organization.

It makes perfect sense... fill the roster with yes men so we can be the Nuggets or Hawks for the next 2-3 years. Maybe we even win a playoff series. That would really be special.

With a horrible shooter and slow footed guard like felton running the show why would you sag off of Novak? Stay on him like white on rice and watch the knick offense flail and flounder. Similar to the way portlands offense floundered when felton was out there waddling.

So there's no hope for Felton at all? Kidd even?

This is very inaccurate. He put up allstar worthy numbers (17 and 9) while Stat looked like an MVP. Once they clicked, their chemistry was VERY good. And last i checked, the reason Felton was traded was to pick up a certain 5 time allstar from Denver. He was traded for the exact same reason Gallo, Chandler and Mosgov was traded. Felton will be just fine here.

I guess you missed the waning months of feltons play here. Turning the ball over and laying bricks like a union worker. He was that way right up until we traded him.

Pretty easy to see for Lin to be effective he has to dominate the ball just like Melo. That isnt going to work here. I wish Lin luck. He will put up good numbers in Houston. Just surround him with shooters and real good Center who can dominate the paint "Like Howard" and u may have something. Had this team been constructed differently it might of worked out in NY. How this team is built Lin doesnt make sense at that price.

name one great PG who doesnt dominate the ball. They are the QB.

This team is constructed around Melo and Woody's iso-joe offense. Two things with an epic history of first round outs. But the Knicks will win 50 games, they will make the playoffs and they will perform exactly how they are built.

I think the Knicks will trade the 2013 pick for future picks. No sense in drafting a player that will take the 3 mil exception

well said. lin represented hope and he played basketball in a way that we hadn't seen from a star in a NY uniform since the early days of mark jackson, i felt. completely selfless. if he scored 38pts, it didn't seem selfish - it came within the flow of the game.

i still don't know if i can leave the team, it feels like debating leaving my wife or worse! that said, i despise dolan. he is a petty piece of crap. and carmelo has basically transformed into marbury in my head at this point. i'll hope they win a playoffs series... though i don't even know if i see that happening.

to think that it could have been possible to build this team around gallinari and lin - two unselfish and talented ball players... it could have been refreshing. while it's arguable that this current roster is better - it already feels like it's as good as its gonna get, the window is small and the ceiling feels like the second round. then we gotta blow it all up again. who's a free agent in 2015? let's start the watch!

Lin is a 1 trick pony though. Outside of being able to drive and kick recklessly what does he do well?

three point shooting
gets into the lane
clutch shooting
assists, finds the open man
perimeter shooting
defensive steals
drawing fouls
unselfish player

If by "one-trick-pony" you mean "a point guard who can do almost anything you can ask a point guard to do on the court" then yes, he is a "one-trick-pony".
