Wouldn't someone who needs to earn his minutes have more motivation to show up in shape and not fat? A guy who likes getting into playing shape during training camp is not in the right mindset.

I know Felton personally since my housekeepers dog has the same vet as his and I know that he is not actually FAT. He is just a bit portly.

I'll sign up for 13 pts/7 asts (his career stats) as long as he comes to camp ready. He actually played in Larry Brown's system in Charlotte, so I'm sure it'll be similiar to Woody's.

Lost in all this is if we just drafted Lin like Briggs and myself (and other posters) wanted to we'd have him AND Shump for peanuts for the next few seasons.

Moving on, I think Felton is a good fit for this team. Woody will stay on his ass to be in shape. For the love of god can we please not have 5 billion threads every time Lin/Felton has a good/bad game. Both players can be successful without the universe collapsing. We can root for both to do well. Unicorns rainbows and leprechauns.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Not necessarily. We probably would've drafted Lin with a second round pick and he still could've left like Landry Fields.

Its a shame Felton has come back in the middle of all this Lin madness because he is a good player that when he came here after signing a contract favorable to us, he gave his heart and soul and actually played his best in New York. Of course, people will simplify it as wizardry from MDA (and yet wont say the same for Lin as the argument could be done the same way). But the guy worked really hard, loved being in NY and it seems he was so devastated when he was traded he got depressed and all. The guy, in the middle of this madness, still has the guts and cokones of coming back and possibly taking undeserved heat as the man to take over at point guard for Lin.

I get angered by those fans that simply because they are disappointed Lin wont be back, simply resort to fat jokes and negative regards for a guy that wanted to come back in a situation he knew would be hostile. Its a shame because this guy will be solid for us, yet most will simply hate him because he isn't Lin.

Welcome back, Felton. Your first time here was really exciting and I appreciated your passion for the team I root for. Wish you had returned in a different situation, but now I just hope you are strong enough to stand the undeserved hate coming your way and hope you can work hard enough to make us enjoy even better times than before and above all, help us win.

System? He has no system. It was Joe ball in Atlanta and it will be Melo ball here! What system? Felton can make an entry pass.

Lin always knew it is Melo's team too. He adapted when Melo and Stat came back.

Amare was the one the got Felton in shape when he was a Knick. It's obvious Felton needs someone pushing him, so he and Amare work very well together on and off the court.

"Woodson made it clear that he’s going to lean on proven stars Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire."
“I just think he’s just going to utilize his leading scorers,” Stoudemire said. “With myself and Carmelo, he’s going to utilize us to make sure that we take advantage of our every opportunity out there on the court. We’ve been profound scorers all our career, so we’re going to make sure we take advantage of it.”

They knew back in March that Lin wasn't going to be a knick for long. So this shouldn't be a surprise.

Correction GodSave - it is Mike Woodson's team.

From the body language in Las Vegas it would appear that Amar'e and the Head Coach were bonding well in the stands.

Felton and Amar'e Stoudemire need no introduction and that is a good thing.

Jason Kidd and The Captain already have history.

Tyson Chandler will absolutely love that Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas will have his back.

Expect JR Smith to have a career year.

This is right on. I'm also very happy to have Ray back. Grunwald did a very good job getting him and Kurt Thomas so quickly.
