I don't get why they don't trade him to Houston. Houston wants him without an extension. Houston has Martin and Dalembert, both players have 1 year left and can fill needs in Orlando. They also have plenty of assets. 3 first round picks from this year and a future lottery pick from Toronto. It's a no-brainer for Orlando.

Houston has no pgs. I wouldn't want any part of going to Houston. Not to play with TD. Apparently he is not interested in going home to Atlanta either too much of a distraction. Bynum is not going to want to stay in Orlando. Dwight to Brooklyn and we are in trouble

Exactly- the 3 picks the Nets are offering will all be in the very late first round. Lopez does not deserve a max contract. At least the Rockets can give them a guaranteed lottery pick and some cheap young talent.

If you're Houston do you rent Howard and hopefully put a team together next offseason? I think Chris Paul is staying in LA but maybe if there's other free agents? The only way Howard can join BKN is if he's traded there so if they eliminate that option he might stick it out with them providing they get some other talent.

Maybe Houstan thinks if Howard does not want to stay they can at least do sign and trades with him to get back enough value.

Media reports mostly point towards Brooklyn but one never knows.

Howard going to Rockets are not going to have a good team around him. Lakers and Brooklyn will have a nice roster around him. Lakers are contenders without or without him.

Right, that was the plan 2 years ago...stand pat with a broken down STAT and wait for the DHoward sweepstakes, a stat monster who's now proven he has all the team leadership qualities of a giant Starbury.

A little microfracture surgery, and then you could be happily complaining about how we gave away too much for a proven loser with a bad back.

Dalembert is on The Bucks, traded to move 2 roster spots up in the draft.

we dont need Melo to be a leader... just play hard on both ends, even when someone else is scoring the ball. I have my doubts he take a Paul Pierce roll, but also my hopes.

Let NJ make the deal and the big splash. Howard just had his back opened up. Also that trade leaves them with their franchise hanging on Dwight's herniated disk because they have no picks or young players.

Melo trade sucked but we got very lucky afterwards, so much so that every asset we lost has been replaced with superior talent
Melo > Gallo
Lin > Felton
Chandler > Mosgov
Shumpert <> Wilson Chandler (time will tell)

I hope NJ does get Dwight. Good for them. Good for us

Not so good news this guy is an insider in Orlando

Nothing has changed, in my opinion. I think reports of Magic re-opening Howard bidding is a play to get one of the involved teams to move. It's a negotiation, this is simply part of the game. I still say 90 percent chance Howard going to Brooklyn. And soon. If this thing was about the Magic getting the "best deal" Howard would have been a Laker weeks ago. I see nothing but a bluff here.

and Charlotte not in the mix.

Orlando & Brooklyn can't trade straight up because someone needs to take on Hump

This is getting better by minute!

How does Dwight Howard to Cleveland sounds? Team him up with Irving the Great?!

Cleveland surely has the assets and have stayed relatively quiet!

Dan Gilbert will be a happy man going head to head with Lebron!!

Williams got 26 mIl more to stay A net. If that is the case for Dwight I think he stays where ever he is traded. He certainly has lost the right to dictate where he goes.

ITs also part of the game to make another team over pay.

Someone gotta blink.

Looks like ORlando leaks it out to keep other teams in play and show the hand.

LIke Melo, is Howard really want to play hard by not resigning with Houstan and go free agent?

If so, who will have money? Don't have t have money but assets for sign and trade.

Dallas seemingly will keep cap available every year.

Does howard try to get on clips for Griff and Jordan to play with CP3?

What does the good folks at UltimateMagic.com think? Rebuild or Starphuch?

I don't understand either, would rather use that money to keep Ryan Anderson as an asset than trade him to NO for a Ayon, with no draft picks, and without shedding a bad contract in Duhon/Q.

If they trade DH for late 1st round picks, with Nets, that is horrible value...

They are completely retarded

I can't pay attention to this Dwight stuff anymore. It'd be fun if the Nets got Dwight. NY would be a basketball mecca again. But I can't deal with the twists and turns anymore, it's driving me bonkers.

Feels exactly like the Melo deal, only the Nets are paying way less because it's clear Brooklyn is Dwight's only destination and he still has the leverage of next year's free agency.

Having two good defensive centers will help us head to head with DH. He needs to score close to the basket.
