I hear how it will be great to have Felton back again with Amare when he couldn't run the pick and roll with him the last time he was here. Felton got off to a good start as a Knick but as the season went on he called his number too much and made poor decisions on the floor. I don't know what pisses me off more, not getting a HOF PG in Nash or Kidd, or having Felton back as a Knick.
If you think Kidd is still playing at a HOF level, you didn't watch many Mavs games last season. He was horrible. He's done.
If you think Kidd was seriously considering the Knicks and not just using them to leverage a better deal as he has done THREE TIMES IN A ROW now with the Mavs, I don't know what to tell you.
That said, I am bummed about Nash. I truly thought we had a shot. And many unbiased analysts have said the Knicks package was better. But Nash wanted to be in LA. Which means he thought he had a better chance to win a chip there or that he was ALSO just using the Knicks to leverage a better deal from the team he really wanted.
Never said Kidd was still in his prime but I would take an over the hill Kidd and his knowledge of the game and his willingness to set up his teammates over Felton any day. He would have been an upgrade over the backup PGs we have now.
Felton is not the kind of veteran I want Lin to learn the game from. I don't know how serious either one was about signing, doesn't change the fact that our best bet right now is Raymond Felton, I don't consider that anything to be happy about.
