In all fairness, Nash at 5m or so, could net us 1st round draft pick, as an asset, something he has said he doesn't want to be.
Also, he wants to start, get his $, fit in with team, and compete in that order.
There is a chance with Iman that he won't be the same player, but I will not risk him for Nash, a player that cannot coexist with Lin together on the floor....

the one good thing about not getting nash is him going to a bad team like toronto. For months a i feared him going to the heat but that looks like more of a pipe dream than the knicks getting him.

Would definitely pull the trigger on a Fields deal. No way am I including Shump, even if he's coming off a bad injury...

I just wanna say, as a recent member of UltimateKnicks.com, that I ****ing love this forum, and this thread is one of the glowing reasons why. Fuck you ESPN, I got my people at the Ultimate to keep me up to date on all FA talk.


Omer Asik taking a 3-year $25.1 Mil deal from Houston. I think that's money well spent.
Ramon Session has been heavily pursued by the Lakers, but Lakers also talking with Chauncey Billups, Jameer Nelson, Kirk Hinrich, and Nick Young (this last one I don't get)

Ianzonne reporting that the Knicks met with reps for Camby and Brandon Bass among others. Camby has a list of 6 teams including the Knicks that he is interested in playing for. Bass is the closest thing to a LBJ stopper out there in my opinion. Either of these guys would be a great addition if the Knicks choose to not get backcourt help.

Knicks are likely looking at multiple trade scenarios. Bass would be a decent replacement for Amare. Obviously he is no Amare Stoudemire but Bass is solid.

I dont expect Amare to be wearing a Knick jersey in October.

the asik deal is backloaded, apparently...he would make $15 mil in the 3rd year...

that's a 'poison pill' type of deal i guess we wonder could happen with lin.

i am now starting to expect it to come up in some form if nash rejects t-dot's offer.

I thought Bass played real well in that Heat series. Wouldn't mind signing him. Don't see him as much of an option though. The Knicks have to find a way to get min a 25 minute a night difference maker for the MLE.
