Dolan can't handle the Alpha male in the house unless he is compromised as was Isiah.

Dolans wife would be drawn to Jax and dolans kids would ask him for advice. Dolans dog would switch loyalties.

Dolans backing band would also be apt to follow Jax. All those tall mens just be too much for Little Jimmy.

It is of no coincidence that after months of hibernation, Ms. Buss happens proclaims Jackson has 'energy'.

He's communicating with subtlety.

Has anyone else seen this article yet?

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/jackson_has_itch_report_coach_but_Lt6fnypozXI5cYpwQ7GZNN?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20Knicks%0A

I held back on this issue because it was unclear whether the Knicks had actually had any communication with Jackson or not. I dont like going on here-say. But if this is true then Dolan needs to get his act in gear.

i agree with this completely:

netw3rk ‏ @netw3rk

I understand that it's important to Phil's ego that he be allowed to turn down the Knicks but I'm not big on formalities.

amen.

slow news day, no one gives a flying flip about the playoffs... what's ken berger to do? write an article tearing the knicks apart for not chasing phil jackson.

i'm sure if they were chasing jackson, he'd be writing an article tearing the knicks apart for not giving woodson a chance after he went 18-6 and got melo to play hard.

berger is a frustrated knicks fan. and, hey, ain't we all.

Yeah, forget 11 championships and a legend because Woodson is a great coach.

Berger's article rings true in so many ways. Dolan cares about making money, which is why he's big on CAA. The Knicks winning a championship is on the backburner. He cares more about schmoozing with the Hollywood types than bringing in legit basketball management and personnel. This team was doing alright under Walsh. Once he left the roof caved in again and we are back to square one with Dolan's stupidity.

You can try and neglect that sad fact but you'll realize it eventually. This isn't about Phil. It's bigger than Phil. It's about us being a joke of an organization.

I think Beck kind of layed out what it would be like with Phil. He would clash with the organizations policies and Dolan and he wouldn't back down. I think you have to remember that while Dolan hired Walsh at Stern's request he also let him go at the end of his contract. I am not positive that the owner wants a guy with the credentials, clout and ego of a guy like Phil or even Walsh. I could be wrong about this but Dolan has always been a free spender and often has overspent to do what he thought might help the team. I don't think this is about money. It could be Dolan's loyalty to Woodson. He certainly was too loyal to Layden and Isiah. However, he hasn't given Woodson a contract yet.

James Dolan doesn't want successful people who will talk back to them when he says his stupid ideas and yells at people. He wants yes-men. He wants puppets he can control. This is why this team will only be successful by accident if they ever do become successful. No competent man with credentials will want to work for an egomaniac like James Dolan.

Phil to Brooklyn?

May take a while.

Would galvanize his legend. Phil can recruit. Do the Jedi mind trick to get vets to take the minimum.

There is probably aome truth to that but I believe that Dolan gives his basketball guys autonomy for the most part. I think Walsh had complete autonomy until the Melo trade. I think Isiah was allowed to do whatever he wanted and I know Dolan was very supportive of Layden. I don't think Phil stays out of NY because he doesn't want to work with Dolan. I think Phil would look at the team and know that they were not going to win a championship no matter who coached them.

Probably some truth? What has shown you otherwise? Layden and Isiah were both yes men.

What did Isiah say yes to? Con man maybe, yes man no. Also, lying or agreeing to do anything to keep getting a paycheck (i.e. coaching) after you have created a can't win situation makes you a survivor not a yes man.

I never heard that Dolan was making moves behind the scenes when Layden was acquiring all of his ex Utah role players.

What do you mean what did he say yes to? Isiah Thomas is Dolan's friend and Layden was non-confrontational as a person. This is what Dolan wants. Dolan does not want alpha male personalities that will challenge his authority. More often than than not those personalities are the ones that are winners. Dolan would prefer to have a guy he can control over hiring a winner because it's not about winning games for him. Never has and never will be. You can continue to defend Dolan for absolutely no reason (well, I guess because Mike Woodson is a good coach in your eyes) but all the evidence points to Dolan being a huge idiot.

You don't think Isiah is an alpha male? You don't think he has a dominant personality? You don't think Isiah had the ego of a winner? Not agreeing with your opinion isn't defending Dolan.
