No name?

You seem to underestimate Lawson big time - he makes that team much better

Faried is a no name - Great pick - playing off the charts

Brewer = no name

Gallo - name

McGee - name

ANDREW(Re) Miller - NAME

With all that, their winning pct is the worst it was in 5 years.

People forget how good Drew Miller is.

ITs call developing players. Same for Affalo, they developed him. By extracting Melo for value they opened up more shots to go around. Add in Gallo and you change your team. Team is also happier.

The pieces are individually less than one Melo but collectively they add up.

Make no mistake about it, Melo was going to Nets and was getting that money. Dolan out of fear had to step up and do it for less than basketball reasons.

Walsh to me is a basketball guy and to me seemed like he did not want to do this deal. Dolan could not stomach a star in Brooklyn.

Dolan not understand that winning over a long period of time could in fact yield good synergy?

Quick question: why did the Nuggets risk this master plan of Melo-free glory by offering him a contract extension?

Negotiating tactic? Misjudgment of Melo's value? Ignorance of Dolan's desperation? We'll never know.

You're right. We'll never know. So how about we stop riding the Nuggets' jock and thinking their front office had some grand design in all of this and were joyously doing Bacardi shots when Melo left, relieved he didn't sign their enormous contract.

Hey Andrew or Martin, any chance you can develop a sub-forum for Nuggets fans because there seems to be an awful lot of them on this New York Knicks fan site.

You seem quite disturbed by that.

Nope, just irritated by the constant Nuggets ballwashing.

You write nope but then confirm what I said.

There's a difference between being disturbed and--wait, why am I having this argument?

You misunderstood - I don't devalue Lawson. I devalue having a big name easily replaceable players. None of those players is remotely close to a big name. I doubt even 5% of Americans have heard of any them.

Denver has a chance of pulling one out. I am gonna root for the beat LA.
Would lobe to see LA self destruct they are already almost there. Lots of good players will be available when they do.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I don't think anyone here ignored that or hates Melo. Otherwise, you're right, though!

You really don't know yet? Melo was never going FA. He cooperated with the Nuggs and they both got what they wanted. Knuggs wanted relative value and took the risk. Don't forget that melo had an option so he could have stayed another year.

If melo was really interested in winning he could have opted out and signed as a free agent. The knicks could have traded players to complete roster.

If it weren't for the CBA being up in the air he may have but we all know that the CBA was a big issue.

Not really. You think it's somehow a bad mark that the Nuggets played a game 7 and had a lead in the 4th qtr? Man that team was ballin and came really close to getting past a better Lakers team. This isn't a time to gloat over a team losing with pride and effort.

Nix, the point of this thread was to take a shot at Melo when he was with the Nuggs. 7 games or 4 games, either way its a 1st round exit. Dont offer excuses for this Nuggs team because when people are taking shots at Melo, they never bring up the fact that the first round exits were at the hands of the Lakers and Spurs....

Why does StarGallo sit the bench in closing minutes? On the real what is his ceiling? What can he do to become great besides playing D?

StarGalloBury does not own anybody thats the problem.

Denver could have really used a go to scorer like all really good teams. Now that Melo is gone, who will be that guy? It certainly ain't the most overrated shooter in history StarGalloBurry.
