Pretty sure the Knicks have already put out feelers for Phil Jackson. He isnt coaching at all so it's not like they would have restrictions. He probably said no or wants too much money.

I have never believed Phil Jackson wanted to come here. There's a lot of scrutiny here - he wouldn't have the best player in the league and he's old. The only team I see him coaching is if Miami came calling and you know Riley won't do that.

I think Woodson almost earned the job with his 18-6 finish, but I wouldn't hand him an extension with only 1 playoff win. He still needs to do a lot better job and before I signed him to any contract I'd want to hear his full plan of how he's going to make Amare and Melo in the same offense work. It doesn't need to be a fullproof plan but I need a plan that makes some sense.

That being said he's as good a candidate for the job as any.

WTF are these people smoking????

I like his rotations, the emphasis on defense, his demeanor on and off the court, the constant communication with players, the respect they seem to have for him, and the goatee.

But mostly the goatee.

Oh, and Funky Cold Medina.

Probably around February 2013, if the world doesn't end before then.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Thats exactly the point - if he's good or not, the vultures will be calling him ISO Joe the first time he runs an ISO and telestrating the offensive plays they blindly perceive that he is not running (like all the screens for cement-shoe-Novak)

IT'S GONNA BE THEATRICAL THATS IS CERTAIN

18 regular season games and 1 playoff game!

You beat me

Loweyecue, everyone? I see many wanting PJax here.

I am talking about the people who think Woodson is the best thing to happen to the Knicks since Patrick Ewing.

Yeah i have always wondered why some fans think that its a foregone conclusion that PJAX will be our coach someday. Yes he was a knicks player but he never seemed interested in being the knicks coach. I think woodson will be a good coach once he gets the chnace to have a full year. I mean he went 18-6 and then freak injuries ruined this series with the heat

I don't think anyone thinks that but he is a world beater compared to the guy he replaced.

i'm disappointed too. I wouldn't mind a one year contract to fully prove himself though.

Woodson is ok for me. In fact, it doesn't matter to me who the coach is. I'd believe.

for me there is a huge difference between iso ball that Phil played and what Woodson has been able to demonstrate, but it's also probably not fair to compare the 2 directly because the players each have had are on different levels.

Pure iso ball is necessary to have on any team, especially for closing out games - even more so in the playoffs. It's what happens over the long haul of the season and how other players on the team are integrated and how dominate - often times to the detriment of others on the team - that iso ball is favored.

Martin, how do you feel about hiring woodson? And do you think Melo is just Marbury 2.0?

I have stated my position before: Woodson has done a very good job here during his run as head coach, but if Phil is willing and available, he's prob the only guy I would hire over Woodson.

Melo is Melo, Marbury was a fool.

I completely agree with your Woodson view.

Not sure what Melo is Melo means though If you didn't tell me that I would have thought he was JJ Redick
