Haha - that pretty funny? Give up the ball to WHOM in the playoffs if I may ask?? Jared Jefferies? Uh ... that worked out great. 26 points and 10 rebounds per game with zero supporting cast.

This is a common misunderstanding. Even the best players in the league make a lower percentage of their contested shots than mediocre players do of their layups and shots near the rim. For anyone in the NBA (maybe except Jared Jeffries!), you're better off trying to create an easy shot first and shooting a contested shot only if the shot-clock is winding down and nothing better is available.

Yeah good point. Tell me which SUPERSTAR won with a team like this POS? With no PG or even worse BD? Please!!

Bryant without Shaq

This is actually 80% of the starting lineup that people thought at the start of the season would be a .700 team. (And technically it's 80% of the starting lineup plus a superior bench that includes Novak and JR Smith.)

I'd be willing to do that Melo for Kobe. Right now.

yeah me too. but that won't help our pain. I want Jordan.

As a consolation price Dirk would do it for me, the man was able to win a chip with
Chandler. The so call offensively challenge center.
Kidd. Offensively challenge and well past his prime point guard.
Barea. A 5.10 Backup point guard disguise as a shooting guard.
Marion. Do it all past his prime small forward.
JT. Another backup point guard disguise as a shooting guard.

Some of you guys are too much. Melo played his ass off last night and he's still getting crap for ISO ball. NEWSFLASH - We gave up too many points in the paint and way too many second chance points. Our defense was horrible in the 1st and the 4th.

Terrible lose and I'm pissed but to say the Knicks lost the game becuase of ISO ball confirms your status as a Melo hater.

Did anyone here specifically criticize his ISO playing? I criticized taking contested, low percentage shots but not specifically ISO playing. And if I were to make those comments only after bad games, you would claim I was "hiding" after the good games. I pay attention to the quality of the shot, not whether it goes in on any one night. (All of that said, I didn't see the first 3 quarters and am commenting only on the 4th quarter.)

Why would it make sense to adjust one's opinion of the player after every game? Why would it make sense to change one's mind about whether a low percentage shot is a good one just because it went in in one game?

And if I don't comment for 3 quarters you claim I'm in hiding. If I do say anything negative after a game, you say I'm a hater. Maybe you're the one who is bitching.

And if Melo really is a superstar, he should expect criticism even in games when he puts up big numbers. How many times have Lebron, Kobe, MJ, and other superstars put up big numbers but gotten criticized for one reason or another. Are you sure you want him to be held to the standards of a superstar?

I am a bitcher but at least I admit it when I do.

I suggest you go back and watch the game then. I can really see how much you would hate Kobe on this team even in his prime cause of all the horrendous shots that he takes.

So, if we go by your definition, then 59% of Melo's shots this year and 55% in his career have been low percentage shots? And 71% of his 3 pointers are low percentage shots?

If you care so much about winning, than you should hold judgment on Melo, we were an 8th playoff seat before the trade; we are still an 8th playoff seat after. Usually true superstars tend to increase the winning percentage of the team they are traded to, not make it worst.

That wasn’t for you my friend Bonn1997; it was for mrKnickShot, “who care much more about winning” yet for a supposedly superstar Melo hasn’t won much in the NBA. Just saying.

Good point. Who's our team?

Baron Davis? SUCKS!
Shumpert? Alot of promise, great defender, cant rely on him offensively other than some spurts at this point. Again, HUGE upside but not yet and not without a PG
JR? HA!
Oh Jorts? Ha Ha!
Fields? Couldn't throw the ball in the ocean if he was sitting on a boat.
TD? Ok maybe you have something there

Chandler = GREAT! but very limited offensively outside of 5 feet. Badly needs a 10-15 foot jumper - PJax will not stand for that if he comes here.

Billy Walker - we miss his timely offensive fouls
Bibby - He was great for us IN THE CIVIL WAR!

JJ - sorely missed - can't score a lick but getting a bit better at not looking SO BAD (like last years playoffs - nice pass MELO)

Novak - great shot but nobody is leaving him opened anymore and we don't have guards to break down the offense enough to get him opened

OUR BEST PLAY AND PRETTY MUCH ONLY PLAY NOW IS ISO MELO! Followed by a TD 3 pointer, followed by a BD fade away from half court while the clock is winding down cause thats as far as he got being that he is so FUKKING FAST!

Lin seemed to do well with a bunch of so called "bums"

So has Melo, 9-3 since you know who quit. With the same bunch of bums. so what is your point?

Melo is still a superstar
