Mike Woodson is looking like a high quality coach right now, so your point is moot

While you wrote that trash Carmelo made a beautiful pass to Tyson Chandler as the crowd erupts.

misterearl you really can't argue with what TripleThreat just wrote. It's not just about how Melo is suddenly playing team ball. We're still in a very precarious spot and it didn't have to be like this. That's all everyone is saying. Dude hurt his team being resistant and pouting.

Melo should be glad that the TEAM is carrying him cuz really he's only been OK the last 4 games. This is a team driven streak. Good for Melo that he's finally playing a total game and giving max effort for the 4th time this year.

melo had a LOT of injury problems this year, it's been a weird year with the lockout schedule and everything. who really cares about the record in this season? it's just about getting to the playoffs with home court and be playing healthy and well at that point.

the record this season matters less than other seasons.

yep yep.

also, we're seeing fewer questions about melo and amar'e co-existing now. tonight was the first night i can remember melo to amar'e for a dunk and then amar'e to melo for a dunk a few plays later. they're finally playing together.

it was astounding to me that MDA couldn't get them to play together well...

even without HCA I am fairly certain we can beat just about every Eastern playoff team besides Chicago/Miami (we could put up a fight with those two).

The goal right now is to escape the 7th and 8th seeds. After that, anything is possible.

I have my criticisms of A-Rod but he's won an MVP and a ring and had many seasons with outstanding #s in NY. Comparing him to Melo is outrageous.

The big difference is that Melo is money when the game is on the line for his career. Arod? I'll take Scott Brosius when it counts.

ShellTop - Carmelo has not caused any chaos between players or between coaches. The fans are always at each other over opinion so what da hell are you talking about?

Dolan gutted the roster. Donnie Walsh resigned because his masterpiece was scribbled on.

I assure you not to many players are thrilled MDA got ran out of town. Isn't MDA one of the main STAT came here in the first place? contrary to what you believe, players liked his system and its been proven it works, IF you buy into it. I'm sorry but you failed to mention what Melo has done since he got here. I'll wait.

Shelltop - Melo has caused nothing but chaos, frustration, resentment and drama. He made us give up our beloved Danino Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and the Quiet Storm Wilson Chandler. He is more aloof than Barry Bonds, a locker room cancer, a diva - and a petulant child when things don't go his way. He has done nothing but fuel sports talk, daily headlines and give both guys on PTI a headache. Just the way we like it in New York, 'cause, (as that wise Madison Square Garden usher pointed out to me in '99) "we don't do nuttin' da easy way."

Mike D'Antoni forced management to choose between him or the player.

He lost. We won. Get over it.

I hope we get Miami in the first round. We need guys who are willing to take the heat, to stand and deliver.

Just win baby.

Don't you have to play a full season to find out what Melo can do here? For me, I'm rooting for the guy. Is he perfect? Nope. Hell, he admitted he wasn't playing with max effort this year but his Knicks career has just started. We have 21 games left for the season as well as the playoffs. Time will tell what Melo can and will do.

The reason STAT came here was because the Knicks were the only team who was going to give him max money. He would have came here if Herb was the coach. Chandler and BDiddy wanted to play for MDA. That's a whopping 2 players on the entire roster.

Sorry but a coach doesn't resign over not seeing eye to eye with 1 player. I don't buy putting all the blame on Melo. The problem had to have been bigger or we'll probably never know but hey if blaiming Melo makes some sleep better at night than so be it. I'm happy with the 4-0 start under Woody.

I'll take the guy who helps his team win over the guy who hasn't but somehow got the reputation of being a clutch player. What do you think is more important? The 47 shots Melo has taken in the final seconds of games (which I'm assuming is what you're basing your claim on) or the twelve thousand other shots he's taken in his career?

If he has the shot with the game on the line he takes it period. If you're playing Denver and your upset that Gallo is outplaying your bitch ass and your force a game winner with three guys on you fading away you get what you deserve.

Maybe yes, maybe no. They didn't have a good relationship in Phoenix, and when Amare signed here those two had a meeting to clear the air and bury the hatchet.

Have you seen Moz's stat line this year? 2011-12 Statistics: PPG 5.6 RPG 4.40 APG 0.5 EFF + 7.88
Have you seen the great year Wilson had in China?
Have you seen this:

PPG 15.2 RPG 4.90 APG 2.6 EFF + 15.94

PPG 20.6 RPG 5.80 APG 3.9 EFF + 17.19

Gut the roster indeed. I'm sure we'd be battling for the third seed right now if not for that stupid Melo trade.

When are you haters going to wake up and smell the Nuggetty sphincter?

So these guys sucked when they were here? They sulk and dogged it when they didn't get there way? They strapped our cap and flexibility? Hmmm I see. Listen, if you going to gut a roster with hungry, young, up and coming talent you better do it for an elite talent thats going to make a significant difference on your team. Right now, we sub 500 and if it wasn't for Lin, TC, and maybe Novak, not Melo, I don't think we make the playoffs and we already knew how to do that.

Yes, of course. Up and coming talent; tell me what is Ray Felton doing right now? How's his hustle and non-sulking attitude working out in the league right now?

And Moz, I'm sure we'd rather have another year of cap space flex and his fabulous production then TC, right? Or suppose we kept Moz? Is a third rate C really helping your argument even if TC comes here to play with nobody?

Let's skip Wilson, since we all realize CBA statistics are drastically underrated.

That leaves us a simple head to head with everyone's favorite HOF'er, Gallo.

Show me all the intagibles that offset those simple numbers. List them for me. Tell me how the singular talent of a relatively poor man's Toni Kukoc and another year of cap space flex was going to get you to the promised land any time sooner than we already are?

Your response is probably the most insightful analysis I've ever read on this board.

Foget what I read.

I see glimpes of what can be.

Last nite I watched game causually and saw melo make some nice plays.

THen the box told me 5-15.

Maybe those offensive rebound-put backs he does kind of pump up those figures both good and bad.

He is playing a better all around game but AMARE got 12 boards and looks great inside!
