Does anyone here trust Shumpert and Fields to knock down shots consistently for 4 games in a playoff series.

Based on the ESPN article I get a feeling he goes to the Clippers. D'Antoni can be fickle and I doubt Smith wants to sit on the bench. He wants to look good to get his next contract and Paul and Mo Williams can do that.

Yeah, Del Negro is a great man himself with an esteemed legacy of winning, an esteemed way of playing ball that was the subject of a good book, and has really done much to grow and develop players.

Chris Paul runs that team and Smith wont get benched by Del Negro. D'Antoni on the other end is a crap shoot.

I think I'm beginning to turn on bringing in JR. I know it's already been mentioned, but I just don't think we have the playtime for him once Baron/Jorts/Melo come back.

Lin/Baron
Fields/Shump
Melo/Novak
Amar'e/Jared
Tyson/Jorts

JR is better than Novak, but for the minutes we can allot and role we need filled, might as well hold onto Steve. I think you only bring him in if Baron suffers another setback.

because Shumpdawg is giving me every indication that he's ready to ball at a high level in the playoffs.

At some point you gotta give it to the young guns. They have to develop at some point. What better time than this season? You throw them in that water.

Remember Tayshaun Prince? Guy came out of nowhere and dropped stupid-ill buckets for the Pistons in the playoffs, he locked people down. Shumpdawg can lock people down in the playoffs; defense doesn't choke come high water.

The Daily News is saying we are very close to a deal with JR Smith and that we need to cut someone( my guess would be Bibby?)

I've seen this mentioned but.now that you ask me directly I will take opportunity to answer this lingering issue, I will tell you no, I am not. When that guy posted here I was a fan of his but unfortunately I do not come close to his talents and charm. I am just me.

You lost me here...are we talking about Grant Hill or JR Smith?

Why are you people so reluctant?

His attitude? Then why are former teams trying to re-sign him (Chicago, Denver)?
His defense? He is as good as Landry defensively

We are desperate for shooters. Novak alone won't cut it and his minutes will be curtailed when Melo comes back
We need bench scoring. Unless of course we want to continue playing Lin, Melo and Amare 40 minutes a night

I'm telling you, JR completes this Cinderella story. He is the missing Ginobili/Harden piece that fits perfectly.

Because they are content with "growing" instead of adding pieces to win. Its the same **** with every new addition and anyone who might possibly have to be traded or have their minutes reduced. I'm not understanding this whole, kill Shump's confidence bull crap. Shump is does not have fragile confidence like Landry and Toney. He will be find and his game is versatile enough that he will be able to play with JR. I don't understand the problem.

We have to load up with weapons to go against the Bulls and Heat. This is a year in which you need serious depth. You don't want to just skate by. Adding more talent to this team only pushes out the weaker guys in the rotation. JR is a scary guy, but he's just one guy. I think we have enough leaders to be able to handle one guy.

Yeah I think Bibby is done. I can't see them releasing TD or the Balkster.

The same thing is going on with the Rangers they have a chance to add a top scorer like Rick Nash but fans are weary of jeopardizing team chemistry but the playoffs are tough. You need guys who can shoot and score if you want to go far. Even star players cool off in the playoffs ask Lebron. It would behoove a team to stack up as much depth as possible

Now let's go and win a championship. This team is going DEEP in the playoffs.

Harrelson suffers. Which I guess is OK, since he's not even playing now.

You think Jorts suffers? I guess you're right, man.

But Jorts has that big body to bang 'em. He has application.

yes thats another reason to bring in JR if Baron suffers another setback after playing in a few games you can't solely rely on Shump & Fields jumpshooting and Novaks 15-20mins backing up Melo/STAT

If a guy like JR is available, warts and all, you get him. Especially in a shortened season like this, anything can happen in the playoffs. If you go All Lin then get all the ammunition and firepower you can get and GO ALL LIN!!!

The Answer Man digs the way you think about depth. The problem with Baron is durability, even if he returns. Perhaps crazy JR can be the backup point guard du jour. He can have Mike Bibby's jersey. Balkman stays for comic relief.

Visualize Harrellson hitting the baseline jumper.

Fair enough. I understand Baron is a concern, but if healthy, it really comes down to Davis vs. Smith. I'll take B-Diddy.
Will JR sit calmly on the bench, cheering on the team?

Baron is right on pace with the original 8-10 week injury report from when we signed him.

The Answer Man Has Been To A Friends House Where The Chicken Tasted Like Wood

MaTT4281 wrote:Q. Will JR sit calmly on the bench, cheering on the team?

A. It beats the hell out of trying to find a decent Reuben sandwich in downtown Beijing.

Baron Davis' back was probably twisted like a pretzel covering Lin in practice.
