I agree we're desperate for an SG. Fields is starting to remind me of the Q-Brick years. Ok, maybe not that bad, but enough to say that neither of them belong in the starting lineup.

I'm a little worried about Smith joining the team because D'Antoni already seems to be losing them. Throw in Smith into the mix and it could get ugly. On the other hand, this team needs a serious attitude injection. Some individual players have it but as a team they have played soft for the most part this season. Davis and Smith could collectively give this team a real chip on their shoulders. Its a gamble that's for sure. I have no idea if its the right move considering JR's history. I can't fault them for looking for help considering the state the backcourt is in.

OJ Mayo's name was dropped a few times last year and this season by some posters. The Nets are trying to acquire him, maybe the Knicks should look into it as well.

We don't have the cash to sign Smith to a reasonable deal. The guy is a quality SG. He will get over the MLE easily.

situation how's Knicks gonna fix that ? What to season's done ?

or will the China hoops season be over before NBA to allow JR Smith return to
the league ?

I think players signed to chinese teams have to stay there (are not allowed to sign in the NBA), even if their teams are eleminated from playoffs. The season is about to end in march.

Gives us 2 more month to make speculations about JR being the savior for the Knicks. Hurray!

Fact of the matter is that our offense is worse than our defense this year. Why? No shooters and no scorers besides Melo and sometimes Amare. JR is comfortable as a spot-up shooter, and damnit when he gets hot he has the most range in the league. Even better, he can put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim with his athleticism or dish it to the bigs for an easy dunk.

I don't like Shump in the starting line-up because the spacing will be disastrous. I also think Shump would be more comfortable as THE chucker on the bench unit. He'll get more minutes when we play premiere scoring guards.

Jr Smith sounds like Ray Allen from your description.

Too bad he is the complete opposite of that.

I thought we were done going after bad character players. I guess not.

We were done. When our GM and coach were on the same page about it. Those were the days. I see this guy as being in the Crawford mold, he will drive MDA nuts. hates low bball IQ players.

the real question we should be asking ourselves is will our season be over before the season in China.

The way we're playing, come March, no one will want to sign here.

Did not like Melo and Im trying to like him. I respect his talent and he is basically an agreeable chap, but this clown with Tranformer Tats on his neck is serious bonehead.

Kid has talent but dumb as spit.

Spit sends his regards and regrets that he will be suing you for libel as soon as his attorney gets done with his appeal of the Nation of China vs Mr. Smith paternity class action suit.

JR Smiff running the PnR

The world is ending as we know it.

I wonder if Dolan will need some consulting help to pull this one off.

Maybe we trade Shump, Jorts, Fields and Jerome to China for him? Would at least put a temporary halt to the I Hate the Melo Trade industry...

The Answer Man Knows JR Smith's Gang Signs Are a Pigment of Your Imagination

Q. DJMUSIC: will the China hoops season be over before NBA to allow JR Smith return to the league ?

A. If the Knicks’ offensive rating — an estimate of points per 100 possessions — 100.1, the lowest of D’Antoni’s coaching career and the Knicks’ worst since 1999, does not improve, our season could be over.

Q. KBC: Does this mean that we need to start another fan club?

A. Absolutely, the "Keep Your Head Up/ Ego In Check/ Hit The Open Man" Fan Club.

Pigment? Is this because GKF fantasizes in technicolor?

Say no to this trash. If Iverson and Melo had a child it would be JR Smith.

This is a guy that once made fun of a teammate for reading!

And let's take into account the addition by subtraction. Melo, Kmart, JR and the Nuggets are a top 10 team in the league. That should tell you something.

MS - your post had absolutely nothing to do with basketball. The Nuggets are a top ten team because they have ten yoots who genuinely enjoy playing together.

The Knicks are desperate for backcourt and JR Smith as as physically gifted as Kobe. He just happens to have a brain by Mattel.

That does NOT make him a criminal.

I miss Mozgov.

My post has everything to do with basketball. We have a team with no leadership. Everyone is quick to point out that we need time to gel, but we have played the easiest schedule in the entire NBA. We have one win over a .500 team and a situation that can go south very quickly.

25th October 2007: Charged with assault, disturbing the peace and destruction of property after an incident in a nightclub. (Aren't they all?) Smith, absolutely battered, poured champagne on a woman, then apologised to her, then spat on her, then shoved her, and then tore her dress. Issued a summons on charges of assault, disturbing the peace, and destruction of private property, in lieu of being arrested. Received a three game suspension from the Nuggets.

"frustrated with his persistent bad attitude and low basketball I.Q."

In the objective viewer’s mind there remains a whole lot wrong with J.R.. He’s selfish, he has an attitude problem, he doesn’t work hard enough, he has some pretty serious off-court issues, his shot selection is poor, the list could seemingly continue forever.

According to Hoopsworld.com, "Multiple well placed sources have indicated that Smith has made it abundantly clear through his actions and non-verbal behavior that he has no intention of listening to Karl."

"Former NBA player JR Smith’s MRI was negative and the player has returned to the court for the Golden Bulls scoring 16-5-4. But how long will he last in China is really the question. Reports say that the team is/was considering waiving the enigmatic star for being to demanding and ditching a few practices while claiming illness"

You want good people to play for your team. A toxic lockeroom, hello Marbury Knicks, Santanio Jets undermines the entire organization. We don't have veteran leadership on this team. We aren't the Celtics, Spurs, Lakers. We are the Knicks. We don't win for a reason. We just spent 3 years getting rid of garbage like this. NO reason to repeat mistakes.

Nope MS, you want good basketball players. Content of character is always a consideration, if ownership can afford the luxury of not being desperate for someone who can play a position that is painfully lacking. Losing is NOT a cool business model for ANY professional franchise, let alone one in New York City.

The seats at The Garden are too expensive to piss off the paying consumers.

I'm not a big fan of JR either but cut the propaganda nonsense! Melo, JR and KMart also advanced to the Western Conference Finals only to lose to the eventual NBA champs. Since Melo, that team got swept in the first round....They weren't top ten last year by any means. Are you calling a 9-5 team after 14 games top ten? Lets see where they stand in June....
