If a player in his second year lets the team down in some inexcusable way, maybe while being a little strong, the FU expression might perhaps be tolerated. But for Landry Fields, a team player who is trying as hard as he can, and is really an exemplary human being, FU is a glaring error in communication. Nothing Landry has ever done on the Knicks merits the FU.
Agree....I think Landry Fields is the perfect team player to have. He's not a locker room cancer, and he will bring the same energy starting or coming off the bench.
I just think once we made that trade for Melo, Landry should've been moved to the bench, because with Melo, Amari and now Chandler, this limits Landry's room to make cuts and move around like he used to. Especially with Melo, since he holds the ball for so long, during ISO plays. STAT and Fields used to have good chemistry, because once STAT got the ball on the block, he would look for Fields on those back door passes.
Fields would be great off the bench, and could provide some much needed energy. This could also jump start his play as well, since most of the time, he will have more room to operate, since Jorts and others will be around the 3pt line. No real post up players in the second unit to clog the middle for Fields, except for Jerome Jordan. I hope Fields moves to the bench. Then BD will move Douglas to the bench.
BD
Shump
Melo
STAT
Chandler
IF health (thats a big if), this is a solid lineup. It will increase Shumps IQ to play with 4 solid veterans too.....Plus, with BD and Shump's ability to attack the rim, it will energize Chandler for put backs, and limit double teams on Melo and STAT.
