I was a little skeptical when they hired Mike Woodson,
but I now sense that he might be the 2nd most important addition to our new team.

Landrys mechanics are messed up....it makes no sense to practice if your form is wrong. He shoots flat footed and the shot is a knuckle ball.

Anyway I think dude can replace Shawne on the bench this year. That's not a diss its just reality.

Kelly Tripuka was a damn good player back in the day....just saying. He looks like he could play now.

I really hope Walker is not in the rotation.

I saw him once standing around. I think dude is just an after thought. He wants to be dell curry. Let him sit in a suit all year waiting for a injury

Kid is super confident. What we said is what happened. Dude talks in the 3rd person. He's very confident. Like a kid in a candy store. I think he knows he's better than alot of guys around him and in the league. We might have a huge steal

I like the addition from a defensive perspective but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I still want to see Mike D do a good job and win here and hopefully this helps.

Woodson talked about cleaning up stuff in the video room. Accountability will be on the mind this year with woodson, and chandler here. Very exciting

Shumpert is in a position to succeed. All the role players are because unlike in the past they will only be asked to do things that are in their skill set.

Jorts just has to bang and use that long range jumper he has (Scalabrine, a guy who KILLED us)

Also there is a good leadership here w/ Amare and especially now w/ Chandler. They will push the young guys.

Don't tell that to Reggie Miller, Michael Redd, or Rashad Lewis.
Repetition is what makes a good shooter, not necessarily form.

Agreed. Don't tell that to Kevin Martin or Shawn Marion either. If you can make it go in, you're good at it. He doesn't even have to be a great shooter. Someone who is reliable... yes. Someone who moves without the ball and can make things happen on the break and also play defense? Yes. Will it be a bonus if he develops into a GREAT shooter? Hell yeah... but if he's good (As his numbers show) then we can live with it for now.

I don't understand how he doesn't work on his handle and shot in the off season. And of he does, I don't understand why it doesn't show.

Because people keep paying him millions of dollars even though he doesn't work on his game, so why would he work on his game

Balkman was done the moment he was drafted.

The guy has no skill.

yeah, in general i am in favor of guaranteed contracts for players. but guys like balkman and eddy curry really make the whole concept seem like it needs a sort of "you are a lazy shlub who doesn't treat this as a profession" clause.

difference with those guys is they had good mechanics... But awkward releases. They all could shoot off screens and and catch and shoot. Shoot off the dri bble. Landrys form cripple him to spotting up or die. He needs to be reconfigured

Although I dont' disagree with you I have to play devils advocate. What are your thoughts on the form for guys like Reggie Miller and Tim Hardaway?

some are acting like fields was a bad shooter or something. later in the year seemed that way, but dude shot about 50% efg on jump shots for the season.

http://www.82games.com/1011/10NYK9.HTM

his shot is already way better than lee after his first year. it isn't even close in comparison.

fields was effective as an outside shooter. not great, but he knocked down plenty of jumpers.

lee had no jump shot until his 2nd to last year with the knicks where he started to show a little one, and then his last season where it was effective.

Agreed. The man shot 40% from three last year. He needs to work on his shot but it's not like he's starting from scratch.
