Houston's agreed to send a 2012 first-round pick -- previously obtained from the Knicks -- to New Orleans as part of package, source says

I'm surprised there isn't more up roar here over this NBA 2K12 trade.

NBA owned Hornets trade star play to the Lakers for other teams spare parts.

Waiting for Howard to get traded to Lakers then have Orlando and New Orleans get the #1 and #2 picks this year.

I have yet to hear the particulars of the deal, but I'd doubt that LA would risk trading Gasol and Odom without assurance that CP3 would be locked in after this season.

It would be hilarious if the Lakers traded for CP3 without any guarantee and he leaves LA high and dry to sign with the Knicks. It's all mere speculation now, but I'm anxious to see how it all pans out.

We would not have nearly enough $ to sign CP3. He's not coming here without some sort of trade. I think we roll with what we have (i.e., as of tomorrow) and sign Nash next season for MLE. THat's a contending team if we can stay healthy. We can add players to the core as they come available and fit numbers wise.

Starting...

C Chandler
PF Stat
SF Melo
SG Fields/Iman
PG Nash/Iman

Looks good to me.

for some reason i don't care about just CP3. but if they can find a way to fit Dwight/CP3/Kobe under one cap, i might revolt.

yes. that's a real team. the kind of team that can win with teamwork and stuff. super teams in LA and MIA, but the Knicks actually have a pretty balanced team if that works out. and can punish the lakers at PF/SF. and melo always beats bron.

How? RT @WojYahooNBA: NBA owners have pushed David Stern to kill the deal sending Chris Paul to the Lakers, sources tell Y! Sports

It was not immediately clear, sources said, if three-way trade involving Hornets, Lakers and Rockets is merely snagged or in jeopardy

we needed cap space which rockets helped us to get Amare......

Rockets are spending too much for Pau. Scola is a hell of a player but I don't know his contract.

Hornets can do better. OhDumb without his candy and Stupid ass Kardasian clan could just mail it in.

The NBA has caved to pressure from owners that the appearance of this deal, on heels of lockout, had to be stopped, sources tell Y! Sports.

BWHAHAHAHAHA, if true. stop the trade cuz it made the lockout the joke that it is.

The reason this is funny is because this new drama series doesn't feature the Knicks as the laughingstock of the NBA. Sucks to be Pau Gasol, Osom or a Laker fan right around now.

best part

Some owners pushed Stern to demand that trade be nullified, and the Hornets be made to keep Paul on the roster for the foreseeable future, sources said. A chorus of owners were irate with the belief that the five-month lockout had happened largely to stop big-market teams from leveraging small-market teams for star players pending free agency.

of reasons to stop a deal, this isnt a good one. if its all true. im sure the owners think its a great reason though.

the hilarious part is that this will distract a lot of people/owners that the knicks were able to gift themselves tyson chandler. :prays:

Stern allows the Lakers to steal Pau from Memphis but he nulifies this? He may officially have achieved puppet status for the owners.

they should pre-emptively void any howard to "big market" trade now at this point. where was this stopping "bad" trades when IT was killing this team?
