The day when Anubis is the only that agrees with me (and he is a former Isiah fan) is the day I need to question what everyone else is thinking.

which C do you propose the Knicks pursue? Who plays defense behind Amare and Melo?

Dalembert.

You have to be kidding. Dalembert just oozes lazy.

That's funny, because that was a label Tyson Chandler used to carry around before last season.

And so does Tyson at times. Let's not forget what a flameout this guy was in Charlotte.

Surely you can't be serious. I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

Source close to Tyson Chandler talks just told ESPN.com: "It's 98 percent sure that Tyson is going to wind up with the Knicks."

- knicks see chandler as defensive back bone. fills huge needs for rebounding and shotblocking.
- would use amnesty on billups; not S&T as previously discussed.
- likely puts them out of the paul race, but "there's always a way."

$14 million a year for Tyson ****ing Chandler? That is god-awful.

We are going to waste our amnesty on a guy in the final year of his contract who can still contribute just for the right to overpay an injury prone center? This is Isiah-esque. I think he is back. Unofficially, Isiah is back and destroying the team again.

$14 million a year for Chandler? Oh dear Lord. Donnie is turning over in his wheelchair.

You're so predicatable. I knew this would be your reaction. LOL.

Would have been nice to just have the cap space to sign him this offseason and have the following team

Felton-Fields-Gallo-Amare-Chandler with a bench of Douglas, Iman, AR, Moz etc.

I don't sign a guy for 60MM who played well in a contract year. He played 45, 51 games the season prior to last. He averaged 1.1blks a game and has zero offensive game to speak of. We obviously need a guy like him and they don't grow on trees, but too risky

My issue with Chandler is he has no offense outside of dunks and put backs. When your pay a guy 15 million a year I expect a little more.

I'd prefer Deandre Jordan because of age but we are trying to win now and Deandre Jordan needs a few years of seasoning.

79, 73, 79, 80 the four seasons before that.

"zero offensive game" GREAT -- we have STAT & MELO. we need defense and rebounding, he gives us both and allows STAT & MELO to play their natural positions.

for me, this puts the Knicks into immediate contention in the East. And all of the core players are 29 and below, so that means the window is like 4-5 years of deep playoffs.

And it also matches Miami at their weak point.

That team is a 5 or 6 seed with no hope of advancing past the 2nd round.

Knicks have privately assured people that if they trade Billups instead of using amnesty on him, he's destined for a "good team." Dallas?

sounding like Billups might be traded to Dallas to allow Dallas to keep 2012 cap room in place.

Dallas would let Barea go and have Kidd and Billups running the point.

Exactly. Knicks are all in right now. A guy like Chandler solidifies the paint. Yes, this is overpaying him...but not by much. A center who can be the defensive anchor of a champion is a rare commodity. As for offense, that';s why we have STAT and Melo.

Now all we need is to get a capable PG in here, of which there are plenty.

I am trying to do the numbers but I think this scenario works:

Billups, Turiaf for Andre Miller.

Amnesty Balkman.

Knicks maybe can offer Tyson $13-14M starting salary.
