I think Rautins is a high character guy with a good outside shot. He also played four years and I think that was what Walsh was looking for when he took Landry and Rautins. However, Rautins at the time was not rated as even being a second round pick in many mock drafts. And you are right, the only action Knicks fans have seen him is the summer league where he looked like he didn't fit and minimally needed a year in the d-league. Considering his age, I am not sure how much upside he has.

The unstructured create thy own shot in summer league can show a guys athletic ability but a fundamental player needs a system to fit into. Andy can't create his own shot but pick and roll and off a pick to free him up could help him contribute.

Since we only compare the white guys to others white guys, we'll put his upside to Kirk Heinrich. Not a star, but can help a team. Firsts things first, he cracks the rotation and get him in the game. I doubt anyone expected anything anyway.

If he can stretch the offense he'll get time. If not, buh bye......

Billups had a knee on knee collision with Howard. That doesn't indicate that he's a continual injury risk! CB busted his butt to get back on the court and was playing hurt. He's a tough dude and I think he pushed it when if it was just regular season he may not have played.

Billups has been hampered with a deep quadriceps bruise since last Tuesday, when he banged into Magic center Dwight Howard in the fourth quarter of the Knicks’ 116-110 loss in Orlando. Now, the veteran says his knee is swelling from the collision.

“When I got hit, it shifted my knee,” Billups said on Wednesday. “I got extra swelling. I’m just treating it.”

Billups missed his fifth straight game as the Knicks took down the Memphis Grizzlies, 110-108.

As for whether he would be ready for Thursday’s game at Dallas, D’Antoni replied: “You don’t even know when it’s going to be. When he’s ready, he’s ready.”

The Knicks are 6-3 since the trade that brought Anthony and Chauncey Billups to New York.

It had to be a frightening sight for the Knicks, a team that had just finished demonstrating it can hang with the Celtics on the road, a team that needs its point guard, whom Celtics coach Doc Rivers lauded in recent days.

“I went to the basket, and as I took off on my leg it just kind of buckled on me,’’ Billups said

And though Billups hadn’t experienced a similar injury, he had been prepared for the possibility. He wore a brace, though it didn’t prevent the knee from buckling.

[I] actually did this on a smaller scale in the Chicago game, the second-to-last game of the season,’’ Billups said. “I kind of banged it in that game, and that little spot had given me a little bit of a problem. That’s why I was wearing a little brace, in case I got hit again. This time wasn’t even a hit. I just kind of took off and it just kind of gave out on me.’’

CB was 17/6 with us and he didn't even get the hang of the offense. CB hasn't played less than 70 games in a season in the last 10 years. CB has not been a high wear and tear player. His game is very efficient and not a very athletically taxing style. The only thing we need is to give CB fewer minutes and I believe he'll be just fine. Do we know for sure if Iman can handle minutes at the backup PG spot to spell CB? No we don't, but I haven't seen anything that gives me concern about the kid helping and learning behind CB. I doubt he'll do worse than TD has ever done at the PG spot. I don't consider the PG spot to be a problem in NY. The only true issue is Center.

If he turns into Hinrich he would be considered one of the greatest second round picks ever. I think both Hinrich and Collison were lotto picks when they came out of Kansas and I remember thinking it was way too high for either. However, Hinrich is a very good player, many thought Rautins should not have even been selected in the second round.
Also, I think Hinrich averaged around 16 and 5 when he was 25. Lets hope Rautins is just like him.

isn't Imam primarily a 2 who can play 3 in a pinch?
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Iman is a PG/SG, ie combo guard. He's not a true SG and obviously not a pure point. He can guard 1-3 due to his quickness, size and strength. If you want to get an idea of the kind of player he's most likely to look like i'd say Westbrook. A very athletic PG that rebounds and starts the break. Iman has been a PG since H.S. and he considers himself to be a PG. We'll have to see if he has the mental chops to run a pro offense, but just bringing the ball up and getting the team started shouldn't be hard for him. No more than TD or any other combo guard that isn't a QB like Kidd or Nash.

One thing in Iman's favor over TD is that he's more of a penetrator and finisher. Iman draws contact and still gets his shot off. As a one on one player Iman has more ability than any guard we have right now. It's the passing that will be his true test.

Melo's tweet shortly after negotiations broke down tonight. He doesn't seem to be too concerned or was unaware of what happened.

I was very excited about Steph initially and he had such a great opportunity to build a great legacy for himself as a Knick. The way it ended was sad and a waste of a storybook ending.

Thank God for STAT who showed how a Star player should take the reins of leadership! He's been a great representative of the team and city. Melo didn't have as smooth a path but I think he wants to be a leader and succeed here. He loves the stage and seems very happy to be here. Melo takes a lot of pressure off of STAT's shoulders.
