I am and have been a special education teacher in a public school for 16 years. I am one of the therapuetic crisis intervention trainers for my district and prior to woring in a public school I was a crisis interventionist at a day treatment program. My wife is a social worker and has been employed by the same children's agency for many years. I hate getting personal but please do not come on this sports forum and post about your experience as a teacher or social worker and how it relates to sports. I get it if you coach or were a major athelete but if you are trying to start your career check yourself with that opinion. Please know that it takes every fiber in my being not to blast you for your arrogance and ignorance.

I find this fascinating... care to explain? I don't dis/agree, just am ignorant of your world

Mark is my first name. I am getting old so I use Markji to remember who I am.
I am That.

Loved hearing everyone's story - Nixluva; SupremeCommander; PresIke; Olbrannon; Martin (I always wondered about your name :-) ); Fish; nalod; PapaBear; Sangf; ActionJackson; Childs; and everyone else too.

The "blue seats" are the upper deck cheap seats at the Garden where the so called real fans, who pay out of pocket and can't afford corporate prices, sit. (They used to actually be blue before the last renovation, the year Riley joined, when they became limp teal.)

I split a pair of season tickets with my bud in the front row of Sec 422 from '92-'02. Them was good times.

a young Ron Ron resembled what New York basketball should be about, how I fell in love with Oakley, Mason, LJ, Ewing, Harper, Childs, Ward, STARKS, and all the pit bulls here...

Now that's a letdown, I thought you were one of the 12.

No, but I am 1 of 8 siblings.

I could instruct him to stay in the middle of Jamaica Park full of kids and walk out of the park, out of his sight and he wouldn't budge until I came back and gave him the command. Great dog. He did more for us than we did for him, tho he never knew it.

Great story, nix. Sorry to hear about your loss.

whoa. same.

that is a great story behind the name.. so sorry to hear about your loss nix, but so glad you've had 3 kids since.

Nix thanks for sharing this. I know you have a lot of character and I have a lot of respect for you. My wife had a miscarriage with her second pregnancy and it was pretty devistating but we already had my oldest son so I think that helped. As far as my name on the forum is concerned it was one of many I used on NJO Nets forum. I was a bit immature about my posting back then and had a lot of names that I posted under. I just signed on as CrushAlot here. I posted on there as Jason Williams good leg, Fibula Knee back and Crushalot but it was always just in jest to bust on Nets fans. I used to post on realgm as EwingluvIII but for some reason couldn't get that id on here so I ended up with Crushalot.

sorry to hear about your loss! even though i work in a school district, i promise to never try and relate that with sports

I was joking of course, but that seems close enough.

I was a bit heavy into the sierra nevada when I wrote that. I don't think many people do but I have read people posting stuff and I find it very frustrating.

It's what everyone I watch/talk B-Ball with has always called me, and the name fits perfectly. I embrace it with pride.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

ha, just look up prezike or DJ President Ike...

started djing in college with vinyl and on the radio and wanted a persona...

so i came up with "President Ike" which was actually about my mother's mother (my grandmother/nana) calling me ike, as a nickname for isaac...and with her love for eisenhower (including a mug, "i like ike")...but turns out i learned later was a way to hide my father's "jewish" side given her being an italian-american catholic in a jersey shore VERY irish-american town...because of all this, i decided to use the name as a playful way of embracing the whole thing by calling myself "President Ike"...then also in college used to play electronic arts (ea) nba live! with a good friend of mine and he wrote my name in the game as PresIke, knowing my radio show, although always called me "PrezIke"...

I just think it's cool we share first names.

And I went with firefly because it sheds light in the darkness. Or something corny like that.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?
