Then it probably doesn't benefit us to buy him out and extend him for 2011 on. It could help us in 2012 as he might accept less - perhaps they do some kind of deal.

Regarding it not benefiting us to buy him out and then extend, I mean that we would be under the cap and lose our MLE (if there is one), which would be more than the 5 or so million in cap space we'd have free.
