The Nets puncher's chance to get'Melo is muck up the waters, create chaos and steal him at end. Prokhorov wants the star -- not spare parts.

Nets want divided Knicks front office to think they'll acquire via Denver the players NY's reluctant to move for Melo. And hesitate on deal.

Something tells me that Prokhorov's favorite book is "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu

Here's to hoping the Knicks back out, Nets send a boatload of picks and players to Denver and Dolan releases a statement that he was only negotiating to run up the price on the Nets.

that would be fantastic.

but you know dolan would be furious if the nets got melo. he's a single-minded fool.

even if we get melo, i feel pretty doomed here.

This actually makes sense, The russian by getting Knick players would freak Dolan out. Its one thing to exile Gallo, Wilson, Felton, and Mozzy to the ural's but to bring them back to NY (stop thinking Jersey guys) is got to be a great counter move.

Dolan is phuched either way!!!!

Im listening to
and being of Russian decent and the move Prokhorov is doing is freaking epic! Dolan walked into the trap! Its brilliant!!!

The only way for dolan to win is to win big but with a depleted roster, a front office in turmoil and Isiah Prokhorov actually destroyed the knicks! Dolan is thinking linear with melo yet he is getting played.

Im off today, getting ready to go to the gym but my thirst for Vodka is suddenly hit my palat!

Prokhorov is taking the mini giraffe and sticking it up jimmys ass and jimmy never saw it coming!

proko's negotiating techniques are like a high schooler's. from the start he's been as transparent as toilet paper and about as impressive, too.

the only type they'd work on is an idiot like dolan.

Whatever is to that it's roughly approximate to the proclamation of fans that they'd give up on the NBA if James and Bosh went to Miami.

How's that working out?

The Nets were a VERY good team when the Knicks were very bad. They had the 2 best players in the area, they went to the Finals and a couple of conference Finals and the NJ Nets have NEVER played a single home game that had as much energy as a rental version of a hobbled Tracy McGrady making his Knicks debut in a losing season.

For anyone where who says they're going to become a Nets fans, I'm calling you out. I don't believe you for one second ... or you are fooling yourself.

only 2 first rd picks for Mosgov and Chandler or Gallo or Felton?? Chandler or Gallo or Felton are worth 2 picks by themselves unless they are lotto.

If that's the case can we give up 2 more picks and keep them?

Your right! If he walks away Nets get Melo, if he has to give up mozzy the russian will play him.

Check Mate!!!

Forget good faith, bad faith.........Jimmy walked did this to himself. They knew he had to have the trophy and would not stop.

Its brilliant!

Understand I believe Billups for Felton is a positive move. Again, Felton has been playing fairly average to below average for longer than he played very, very well.

So for me it's Chandler/Randolph was never going to get it done.

Chandler/Gallo is pretty much what I always expected.

That was when they were in Jersey. Look how close the Atlantic yards are to Manhattan! Your not thinking of forward possibilities, just past failures under a different owner. Dolan thinks now. The russian has a 5 year plan.

if donnie was at the table, this crap from NJ wouldn't be an issue.

i think the end result is that the nuggets just won't deal with the knicks.

I don't care if they built an addition on top of MSG and played there.

Regional sports loyalty isn't for sale, it just isn't, PARTICULARLY when the motivation is protest.

Now you're expecting loyalty to change at time when the Knicks are actually going to be at least respectable?

Not gonna happen, to any significant degree.

And the Nets new area will be close to LOWER Manhattan, which is not the same thing as being close to Manhattan, as anyone who lives north of midtown will tell you.

And what fanbase of their won the Nets DO have is families in NJ. I assure you they aren't going to Brooklyn.

I agree with you on the Billups upgrade and that has been my stance throughout all of this. I like Felton but think he has been overachieving and think Billups is a better PG. We're actually on the same page as I also expected Chandler/Gallo to be the compromise that gets a deal done. However, I did not think we would have to add our own future pick to that (the 2014 pick) and possibly Mozgov as well. In my opinion, Nets/Denver are doing a good job of attempting to get us to give up as much as possible.

I'm still ok with the current offer out there because I do think we get the best 2 players in the deal and I trust Donnie's ability to build on Melo/Amare. With that said, I don't see any reason why we should throw Mozgov in that deal if it's true that Melo really doesn't want to extend in NJ.

I blame a lot of this on Melo because he hasn't taken a hard stance and it seems like Denver/NJ are capitalizing on his fear of losing the money. If he really wants both the money and the Knicks, he has to tell them that there is NO chance he signs extension with NJ and that he would rather go through FA process without a CBA. If that happens, Denver can be stubborn but I doubt they let it go to FA and risk losing Melo for nothing when we have a solid offer on the table.

Ughh....and now I'm realizing it's already Monday and I have wasted the entire weekend plus day off work for President's day following this stuff on Twitter/ESPN/radio/etc.

Another reason to hate the Nets for helping drag this out....
