Also, Sheldon Williams inclusion in the deal will somewhat supplement it. We should wait this thing out, but cannot let Mozgov get in the way of this deal. No no no no--thats a deal breaker--its not the one piece its the collective.. walkway dolan and go to FA. f ridiculous now. I was going to back the trade of what was mentioned but this tipped the boat. If someone argues that Mosgov shouldnt be a deal beaker---you havent been in business a long time.
the volume of talented young assets is way too much if we give up Mosgov--its collective not one piece.

The volume of talent does not equal Melo in any way. Let's not overrate what we have here. We have very good young player, but no superstar talents. We have 2 great young chips in Gallo and Fields, we would only be trading 1. If you shop this entire package of players around the league, you won't get a player anywhere near as good as Melo, let alone Billups too, who is a 5-time all-star and finals MVP. Sometimes you have to take chances. I'm willing to chance a superstar for a group of good role players.

You sound like an idiot. Mosgov 24 gallo 22 WC 22 Randolph 21 felton 26 pick 2014. My man you dont give up a whole team for a non 5. If it was 23 YO Shaq--i would do it--this has tipped the scales--dont be s tupid think about it.

I can't believe some of you are content being stuck as a mediocre team. What is the plan going forward? Wait for our players to develop into great role players while Stoudemire's prime fades away? It is time to take a chance and get stars. We have an opportunity to add 2 more in the next 2 years. Let's go for it. We are not letting role players get in the way. We are retaining arguable our best young player in Fields and have a mid first round pick this summer to add talent. You have to give to get. Read this article if you need a second opinion. Mozgov, Gallo, and Chandler are not the answer to winning a championship in the near future.

Who gives af--he doesnt know basketball more than 90% of the people here. and 905 of the people here say its a terrible deal when we tipped thye scale--who can we give away our C for the future? how do you win with no 5 man? no 6th man no bench 2ball hogs and no d???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It's sad that you've been a member here since 2001, went through the Isiah Era, and still want to continue to do Isiah-esque moves.

If Melo wants to be part of that future, he will take a hit with his funds (like he buddy's in Miami did) and head into FA. Commercials and enforcements will make up the difference in NYC. Thats not the case in Miami....

Just want to say these posts are my favorite.

"Melo sucks... let's sign him as a free agent!!!"

I'm not a big fan of melo and stat....And I think melo is overrated. But he's still better than:

Galo
Chandler
timofey
Fields
Felton
AR
Curry
2014 1st round

I know knick fans are like that ho on the street thats been focked for 10 plus years, with nothing to show. But please, wake up people and learn from the Spurs!

I would even think twice about trading MJ for those players....And eventually would do it.

But for Melo? R U serious?

THIS IS REALLY LAUGHABLE NOW....I GUESS WE HAVEN'T LEARNED FROM OUR PAST YET!!!!!

WELL...just like the starbury trade, I said prove me wrong...I hope yall supporters are right. We all know what happened with that situation.

It's the same deal....your getting a top notch scorer and pairing him with another top notch scoring big....with a coach that only sees the offensive side of the game. On top of that, you have no bench, and will only be one injury away from going right back to that 1 starter surrounded by roll players again.....EXCEPT ONE THING....These next wave of roll players will be a notch or two lower than what we already have.

PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG.....I BELIEVE IN WALSH...AND WALSH ONLY. Dolan and Isiah are two idiots!

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Guys, calm the f down. Talk about being a prisoner of the moment. Will all of you man up when it's proven that Isiah isn't pulling strings behind the scene and when Mosgov isn't included in the deal??? Geez. Take a look at this reasoned approach to the situation.

Let's try to keep this in perspective: Mozgov is soooooooooo not a big deal people..Dude just isn't that good..Period..5 years from now, maybe we'll have a halfway decent backup center..MAYBE...I'd include him just to clear his future salary and consider it a blessing..With Mozgov gone, I'd immediately call up Marcus Cousin from the D-League and then draft Keith Benson with our first round pick this summer..Benson does a lot of learning next year but once Turiaf comes off the cap Benson will be ready to contribute more in year 2 (hopefully he gets slightly bigger/stronger---that'll be up to Greg Brittenham) and then you have a Cousin/Benson C combination that would FAR EXCEED what we have there right now. That's plenty of skill and size in the middle next to Amar'e..

HOWEVER -- I'm so annoyed at Denver's escalating demands...BEYOND ANNOYED in fact..It's beyond absurd now..Lemme see if I follow this: The Russian comes out and admits that his recent involvement was solely predicated on driving the price up for NY (basically admitting his team never really had a chance to trade for this guy themselves), Melo all but said he won't go to Jersey, the writing's pretty much on the wall that he doesn't want to go back to Denver (do they even want him back now?) AND YET Denver keeps asking for more??? Jesus, what a set of balls on these a-holes!!! I'm ready to step away from this and call everyone's bluff already..Melo's and Denver's..SOOOO PISSED OFF with the way Melo has handled this. Dude's acting like he couldn't give a SHIT what shape the Knicks will be in once he gets here. Man, what a turn off. I'm done commenting on this stupidity until it goes down..If it goes down..Goodnight all.

Get over it! It is not about them! It's about Melo. Why would he allow us to gut our team like this and he is playing dumb and bummer. Let go home forget Melo. and stop connecting Isaih to this deal. It ain't about him. It's about Melo and maybe he don't want to come to New York. Is the 65 million worth playing for the Nets? If it is then take the money and let us be.

You love him! YOU get over it.

These 2 men are running this trade. Of course in your mind Isiah Thomas can do no wrong so he obviously wouldn't be involved.

Papabear Says

OK Mr. Smarty What can Isaih and Dolan do??? Denver does not want to do business with us so what is it that Dolan and Isaih is doing??

Denver does want to do business with us. They will take everything they want from Dolan and Isiah when all is said and done.

Papabear Says

Ok you tell me what should we give up and draw the line?

Chandler, Randolph, Curry and add in Mozgov if need be. That's the most I'd go up to.

No Felton, no Fields, no Gallinari.

Papabear Says

Hey everyone Childs2Dudley want's to give up Chandler, Randolph (who we won't play) and big fat Curry for Melo. Good luck because Walsh knows that deal could not work. Man you are dreaming.

I don't think you can read. I think you need to go back to school. Focus more on reading and less on talking in third person when you post.

Have fun riding on Isiah's jock.

Papabear Says

This is not about Isiah. You are the one who can't stop talking about Isiah. Maybe deep down inside you really love him. but now I will leave you and focus on the Knicks.

Once we include Mozgov, Denver will demand Fields.

In the end Timo is about the future. He's not ready now and he's not going to be the difference between contending this year or not. This is a starting point. I don't like the deal, but at the same time if this is it, I might have to suck it up and do the deal. It's not like you can't find an adequate big man to replace what Timo gives us now. It's not about this season. It's about the next 5 seasons. Maybe they can work something out to add in Nene. IDK anymore. This is just turning into a crazy deal. What I do know is that the idea of Timo is better than the actual player he is right now. There's a reason we're still looking for big man help.

Denver is not going to deal with the Knicks. Just face it. They're asking for piece after piece and Dolan keeps emptying the cupboard.

This is not about what Denver wants anymore - this is about what they DON'T want. And what they don't want is to send Melo where he wants to go, to see him on national TV, to feel like they lost the deal.

They will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER trade him to the Knicks.

NEVER.

Are Broussard's "sources" Alan Hahn's twitter feed? Hahn said that an hour or more ago.
