I've always wanted him on the floor, you don't get better on the bench. You put him out there and tell him to play defense, rebound, hustle, block/alter shots, get some offensive putbacks and a few alley oop dunks. That's all we need from him.
You do get better on the bench if you're putting the work in behind the scenes. Letting a fella learn on the fly in game action is fine if you're a team that has no chance of making the playoffs, but if you're the Knicks, and the pressure is on Coach Mike to produce after getting a superstar, you don't let young fellas learn on the fly, that's career suicide and season homicide.
