Chandler plays both sides of the court. Mayo don't play defense. When are we going to learn to go deep in the playoffs you need defence and Mayo don't play defence. I think the Knicks winning these games was inspite on D'Antoni.Amear stepping up. You heard what Amear said that he was never taught to play defense. If we make the same mistakes we made with the teams with a loosing record as we do playing the elite teams coming up we will get blown away. The real test is coming. I still don't believe D'Antoni is the coach to take us to the promised land. If you are on D'Antoni's bad side you don't play. We should really be spending time working with Randolph teaching him the way we want him to play. We knew before we got him that he didn't have a jump shot but he had other parts of his game that was good. Now the kids mind is all messed up.

Mike is basing much of his reasoning on what he sees in practice. If you don't really have much of a track record, that's pretty much all he can go on. Playing in games is a privilege but Sometimes coaches go on their gut. It's not always about performance up to that point. Sometimes they like what they think a player can give them and give it a shot. So no it's not a 100% meritocracy and doesn't have to be. Sometimes a coach just plays guys based on what he sees or feels he can get. I do know that it helps your situation if you can impress the coaching staff by bustin it in practice.

Nixluva just face the facts!! D'Antoni didn't like Hill point blank. How in the heck do you bring in a number one draft pick like Hill and don't give him any playing time? He all but destroyed this kid's career and confidence. They say Hill played hard during practice but he had trouble hitting 3s I'm glad we have Amear on this team because when Amear has had enough of MDA he will be gone.

If you guys are actually watching the games then you'll notice little things the Knicks do that show they are being coached. The guards always overplay their man and force them towards the help, the perimeter defenders and everyone on the floor more often than not are watching their man and the ball and the second a player tries to penetrate the 2 nearest defenders on the Knicks come together and block off the penetration. The rotations and switches happen much faster this year and they're is more talking on D amongst all of the players. There are more things, but just the fact that we haven't gone to using a lot of Zones shows that this team is much more committed to D and they spend time on it. The fact that the entire team is getting rebounds is another aspect of how they're playing D. No they aren't perfect and they have a long way to go before they'd be considered good, but they are defending as a team much better. LOOK this entire system on both D and O is Mike's system and he's the one teaching them what he wants them to do and how. Go back and watch the games and see how Mike goes ballistic when they miss defensive assignments. He's coaching D and expects them to improve. He's made comments on the team needing to improve their D many times this year and in the past.

All this crap about Mike just not liking Hill is also crap. No Hill didn't start off playing hard, cuz in SL and Camp he came in out of shape and wasn't going as hard as they wanted. In fact there were several comments from the staff about Hill not giving Max effort. Mike made a point of playing Landry last year cuz he was going all out and he commented that Hill was doing ok, but he could do more and so Landry got the nod instead.
