If you guys are actually watching the games then you'll notice little things the Knicks do that show they are being coached. The guards always overplay their man and force them towards the help, the perimeter defenders and everyone on the floor more often than not are watching their man and the ball and the second a player tries to penetrate the 2 nearest defenders on the Knicks come together and block off the penetration. The rotations and switches happen much faster this year and they're is more talking on D amongst all of the players. There are more things, but just the fact that we haven't gone to using a lot of Zones shows that this team is much more committed to D and they spend time on it. The fact that the entire team is getting rebounds is another aspect of how they're playing D. No they aren't perfect and they have a long way to go before they'd be considered good, but they are defending as a team much better. LOOK this entire system on both D and O is Mike's system and he's the one teaching them what he wants them to do and how. Go back and watch the games and see how Mike goes ballistic when they miss defensive assignments. He's coaching D and expects them to improve. He's made comments on the team needing to improve their D many times this year and in the past.
All this crap about Mike just not liking Hill is also crap. No Hill didn't start off playing hard, cuz in SL and Camp he came in out of shape and wasn't going as hard as they wanted. In fact there were several comments from the staff about Hill not giving Max effort. Mike made a point of playing Landry last year cuz he was going all out and he commented that Hill was doing ok, but he could do more and so Landry got the nod instead.
