I could do this all day. If you think Mosgov has a low ceiling feel free to say why. Age isnt one though... if you know anything about the NBA its that many many many big men, and some great big men simply dont fint their game until their mid or even later 20s. Camby didnt rebound until he was 26. Lots of bigs just take a few years. Hell Mutumbo was better after 30 than before 30. Bigs are simply different.

Mosgov being 24 is a positive. If he was some 19 year old over hyped Euro like Skita or Lampe I would be more ho hum, but at 24 he's ready to be an NBA player IMO.

yeah, Bigs typically take longer to figure it out. Also, 24 isn't old...just 2years older than Randolph and 1 older than Danillo.

hey... some dont. Amare was an impact guy at 20 his rookie year out of high school. But if you think you know what you have with a 24 year old center you may not be patient.

I'm 100% cool with someone knocking Mosgov for one reason or another. People killed this signing at first. Now I have seen the guy play in the WCs and I say he's going to be a good NBA player. How good depends on him, but he is NO soft Euro finesse guy. This guy thrives on contact and physical play, and has a nice skill set outside of being big athletic and strong.

Maybe he'll develop into the next Rik Smits (minus the bum foot). One can hope...

naaa... Smits had a silky smooth jumper, but wasnt near the athlete that Mosgov is. Mosgov is a physical player. After studying that game film he's clearly most comfortable when he's got a body on someone.

Rick Smits (robotic and deliberate) No

Jack Sikma (fluid and intuitive.. and throws a tasty outlet pass) Yes

"I'm trying to find something that I don't like about him," D'Antoni said. "The guy shoots the ball. He's got nice rhythm. I just don't see anything bad. I know he has a learning curve but he didn't get into foul trouble. He's smart. He can throw the long pass, makes foul shots. He doesn't shy away. He keeps attacking the basket."

moonangie - one does not hope for Mozgov to develop. One hopes that people who label Mozgov as foul prone develop analytical skills beyond parroting NY sports writers on a deadline.

Do What fishmike Do.

Watch Mosgov away from the ball on every play.

Anubis-if you were posting in the late 60s when computers took up enough square footage for a small house, you would have said a kid drafted out of So. Ill was too slow and couldn't shoot and would be out of the league before the Knx won a championship. he turned out to be a pretty fair baller. Walt also picked up a nickname along the way-Clyde

TheSage - not to be confused with the undrafted unknown from Tennessee State would would later be known for advancing the ball upcourt from the forward position, fierce rebounding and having a close relationship with his barber.

Moz is 6 mos younger than Darko.

BUt what ever it is MDA really did not like that kid.

Nalod - Darko was a locker room cancer, me-first, poor attitude, self-entitled jerk

From the moment he peeped his sorry act in person, The Answer Man didn't like him either

The Answer Man Digs Mozgov Nearly As Much As He Dug David Lee AND He Can Teach You How To Dougie

Q. Nalod - What will the most interesting knick do to Darko when they play?

A. Mozgov will do to Darko whatever Mozgov wants to do, whenever he wants to do it, and Darko cannot do a thing about it

The Answer Man Gives Props to the French Police who Arrested Seven Men Linked to al Qaeda This Morning

Q. Nalod - What does the answer man think Mozgov does to terror threats?

A. Mozgov intercepted and translated the so-called threats using a plastic decoder ring he found in a box Cracker Jacks.

In he words of Mike D'Antoni, "We're not concerned at all. I've lived in Europe 21 years but I've never felt safer than I do with Mozgov riding the team bus. I pity the foo' who thinks they can fu&k with the Eiffel Tower, or the New York Knicks itinerary, while Mozgov is on the set."

A typical high NBA draft pick will have been groomed as a star his whole life - and consequently, may not be able to function well w/o the ball in his hands.

What I like about Mosgov thus far is that we've seen him play a team game on offense - he gets the ball in the flow of the game. He doesn't stop and think when he gets the rock. He's there for a purpose.

He also seems to have an exceptional motor, along the lines of an Anderson Varejao - always moving on offense and defense. It'll be interesting to see how he develops under our coaching staff.

So... no, he may not be a dominant star - but strangely, a straight-forward game like his could make him a top 10 center in the NBA on day.

TheSage - if Anubis was posting in 1964 you think he would have forecast the Knicks career of a 6'9 center from an unknown college in Grambling, Louisiana?

Nah-Jim "Bad News" Barnes was "the man"-the grambling kid was drafted to give him a workout at practice
