The Denver Nuggets are having serious discussions about a four-way trade that would land Carmelo Anthony with the New Jersey Nets, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations.

The proposed deal, sources said, also would involve the Utah Jazz and the Charlotte Bobcats. It would deliver Nets rookie forward Derrick Favors, Jazz veteran Andrei Kirilenko and multiple first-round picks to Denver in exchange for their franchise player, potentially bringing a resolution to Anthony's uncertain future before the Nuggets hold their first practice of the new season.

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal, which has yet to be finalized, also would send former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte, with Bobcats forward Boris Diaw moving to Utah.

The four teams, said one source close to the talks, are "seriously engaged" after extensive talks Thursday.

for the record: if Melo somehow does land on the Knicks I will root hard for him to take his ridiculous level of talent to the next level and continue adding to his game.

I was rooting for Lebron to get a post game but now I hope he spend every summer working on marketing deals/modeling/movies/his own brand of Vodka..really anything other than his game.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

If as reported its tough for Melo to walk away from the M-O-N-E-Y and he is close to NY for Two years.

We'll soon see what stones he really has to play for a diluted New Jersey team that won't be even close to being as good as the Nuggs he leaves or sticks to his guns.

But I would let the Russian know your intentions upfront as not to piss him off.

I don't think this is a man who takes kindley to being humiliated.

In MDAs offense, even Felton could well be an all star. Nash wasn't a star until he hooked up with MDA.

i dont agree on the nash part. nash was a multiple time all star in dal. he was behind dirk and finley, however he seemed to be doing quite well (couple of all-nba selections as well).

Nash was really good and that's whey Colangelo and Mike wanted him. It is strange tho that Dallas would let him go, if they had any inkling he could go on to be a 2 time MVP. That is the part where Mike made a difference. No D'Antoni no 2 time MVP. FAIR?

$$$ (dirk/finley had high costs or would soon) and figuring nash had no other options... they went low figuring hes an older dude plus he will give us a discount. failed. dal should have noted once nash became the starter, they started to win 50+. they got "lucky" in that they still have ever since. sure helps having more than 1 potential mvp player. speculating on if nash did stay... do they fail against mia...

for mvp -- to me that doesnt change why i disagree with the post above, regardless of if i agree on that mvp part you bring up.

Seriously? I thought it was the melo to nets sacred conversation. I put that up at 12:30 last nite and was keeping the purity of that conversation.

I guess you really want to mod eh?

If so many teams are bidding on Melo (one article suggests up to 20) and the Nuggs felt enough pressure to back off the Nets deal because of it, then its pretty apparent tht Melo wants this done NOW.

Am I to assume that this extension is good thru Oct 30th then it can't be done until seasons end?

If melo is pissed the knicks are not willing to go all in then its apparent that Melo wants his money and wants it in MSG and does not make a priority what kind of team is left after a trade.

I want to be entertained but I want to win. So should he.

Maybe we just have us another diva superstar. IF so, I prefer he go elsewhere.

Walsh knows he can't win bidding for Melo. Melo is not helping at all.

I agree. If Melo is actually pissed that we didn't gut the roster to acquire him, then we shouldn't want him. We don't need no volume-scoring punk-ass Diva messing up the good chemistry we are starting to build (i.e., as evidenced by Reggie Miller's description of Amare's leadership in Greenburgh this weekend).

If we can get Melo for a reasonable trade package, ok. If not, he can bitch and moan all he wants, we don't need that BS here one bit.

The core of it is, these guys in some cases, as we have learned have undeveloped personalities. AMare has grown up and shows a well rounded approach. Lebron is a bit needing in the maturity department. Melo has no demostrated a maturity level. He has made strides respecting Billups. But after that is he a manchild like lebron?

LMAO.

Carmelo: "I never said I wanted to be traded. I never once said anything about trade talk,"

Of course you didnt. Your agent did. Nice playing dumb about the rumored Net's trade.

Everyone PLEASE watch the VIDEO.

This is good for Knick fans.

We get to watch some basketball, watch Nuggy games, and we get the best of both worlds.

Watch the nets suck, watch our yoots and when the team is not doing well we can starphuch day dream about next season with Melo.

Meanwhile, Isiah is on campus getting ready for his return.....
