Livingston was great last year. If the Knicks could manage that along with Randolph/Turiaf I would be very happy.

Didn't we just lose our offensive players: Harrington, Lee and Nate and replace all their scoring with just Amare?

You are counting on some guys to grow as players- Gallo, Douglas, Chandler, Randolph, etc.. Lee, Harrington, Nate, and Hughes also took touches away from others during the year, and the younger players were too deferential. Some guys are going to have to step up and establish themselves a team leaders.

We are a much younger team, and we have to develop a new team dynamic. I don't know how Amare will be as a leader, but with the group we have now, I see Douglas, if he can carry the most minutes at PG, and Gallinari being potential leaders. Turiaf is also a good character guy, who may be a locker room leader along with Amare.

Time for MDA to push certain players as leaders if we don't get Prince James.

I think that whatever happens tonight, we may be looking at a very entertaining year.

That was the biggest thing with Livingston--they said he was a real leader--not to mention that he played awful well and showed solid durability. Its the right choice @ a good price--I think 3 years 10mm$ Well have a deep long athletic team. It will be a much better team

And not only that, but we'd be picking up potentially good talent at pretty low salaries so a) it wouldn't stop us from signing a max player next season (though the lockout may screw us out of that opportunity if all the pending FA's re-sign early), and b) we could maybe flip some of it mid season for Carmelo or someone at the deadline. Hmmm, this not getting Lebron business doesn't seem as devistating as it did earlier today.

Turiaf is a very solid guy and will look great next to Amare. Big and blocks tons of shots. Very tough guy. Plays very hard. 20 minutes a night or so will help keep Amare's knees in good shape.

I would play AR at shooting guard. Dont laugh

I like this move because we get a needed player and more expirings for the summer of Carmelo. If we do this, I want to thank Donnie Walsh for not wasting our cap money unnecessarily.

Really, getting Carmelo would be the only reprieve for losing out on LeBron.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The Warriors and Knicks have agreed in principle to a sign-and-trade deal that would send power forward David Lee to Golden State for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike, multiple sources confirmed on Thursday.

According to one source, the terms of Lee’s contract have been agreed to, the paperwork has been completed and all that’s needed are the pertinent signatures.

Oh, and one other thing: LeBron James needs to make it official tonight that he’s not signing with the Knicks. At this point, indications are that he won’t. But the Knicks want to make sure.

Should James pull a late surprise and choose New York, the Knicks would have to renounce the rights to Lee, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.

That would kill the sign-and-trade for Lee. However, if James announces he will play for Cleveland, Miami or any team other than the Knicks, then the Warriors have a deal, according to the sources.

A deal that would be completed by the end of today.

The Knicks still have myriad options regarding free agency in general and Lee in particular, and there remains a touch of uncertainty on their end. But the Warriors’ front office, including owner Chris Cohan, has green-lighted the deal and is only waiting for New York’s approval.

Lee’s deal would be for six seasons with an average salary of approximately $13 million, according to a source. The total package is said to be just under $80 million.

The price for Lee won’t just come in terms of dollars. The Warriors also must part with Anthony Randolph, a 20-year-old with plenty of potential. But what the Warriors get in Lee is more of a finished product, and a player who was an NBA All-Star in 2010.

The Warriors haven’t had an all-star since 1997.

Lee, who averaged 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game last year for the Knicks, drew interest from several teams, including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and New Jersey Nets.

Reported as Kelenna, Turiaf, Randolph.

I'll take it and be happy

Ellis efficient? I just disagree totally.

We are better off without that headcase here.

I understand you are talking about Ellis, but you do realize we are trading for Anthony Randolph, right?

I love that we have flexibility and options in this thing. Hopefully it nets us the ideal deal for US.

What difference does that make? Chris Taft was still on the board. You and I both know why Lee was picked, and why he was so loved at the Garden.

From Chad Ford- sounds like standard agent denial talk prior to a trade- maybe hoping to get a better deal for him. Hell, he might even have 5 other teams he is talking to if LeBron becomes a Knick.

League sources told ESPN.com the Warriors are in the lead to land Lee in a sign-and-trade with the Knicks if New York doesn't win the LeBron Lottery.

However, Lee's agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN.com on Thursday that reports that a deal with Golden State is done are premature.

"There are a million things going on right now," Bartelstein said. "We are still talking to five different teams about different scenarios. David hasn't made up his mind and nothing has been agreed to. I'm not sure where all of this stuff is coming from."

The proposed deal, according to sources, would send Lee to the Warriors for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike among others. The deal was first reported by the Contra Costa Times.

Lee is expected to get a six-year, $80 million dollar deal from the Warriors if the deal goes through.
