We gave him much more then we had to as a sign of respect and he was given every opportunity to succeed and start for an nba franchise. What else can anyone ask. His talent has never been questioned, just his maturity. Dude is a 27 year ols man!

I did not questioned his faith, just how appropriate it is to make such a public display. Isn't it suppose to be "personal"?

Anyone want to complain about how I disrespect astrology by using "starching"?

Nobody disagrees with you about his maturity. He absolutely has to grow up. However, I don't think there is technically ANY rule that says any religion should be personal. Separation of church and state, I do happen to agree with that, but that doesn't mean religion is purely personal. If it wasn't, you'd see a completely different world, no?

This thread couldve been closed after this post! This says it all as accurately as can be. We had him and got to see his talent but that was never the problem. Nate's in a great spot. Good for him but let's move on.

i def don't want to get too deep. and i certainly don't want to question one's beliefs because i feel that matters of faith are personal and intimate. so please don't take my question as disrespectful.

i just want to know this: if nate robinson and dwight howard both have faith in god, but nate has a good game and dwight has a bad game, does that mean that god cares less about howard? or is it simply a matter of god working in mysterious ways? to get more serious, if two cancer stricken children both have faith in god and one recovers, but the other dies, then what? more of god's will?

i won't question your answers. not looking to debate. i'm just interested. much respect pharz.

I hear that. There are moments in life that may lead one to question their faith. But I just remember Job. Sometimes your prayers aren't answered like you wish but can't let that deter your faith. I believe there is a grand plan. You live. You die. My concern is the afterlife.

no problem with the question. I'm sure it shows weird to hear some of these guys with their thanks but many of them are just following the principles of their faithand are giving testimony.

thanks brother. appreciate your perspective. hope the weekend is treating you well.

I just had a little chat with god and he asked me to pass along a message to you guys. He asks that you stop including him in your arguments on UK. Also, he mentioned that he does have a special place in his heart for Nate Robinson, and that Mike D'Antoni is probably going to hell, unless he cleans up his act.

I just spoke to Devil and he said that we can include him in any conversation.
He also mentioned that Nate is not mature enough yet to go to Hell and need to grow up to became a man like Isiah, Zack, or Jimmy Dolan.
He also will be heappy to see you all visiting him in afterlife and will prepare worm welcome.

I think HE is just pissed off with the Catholic Church in general, not MDA.

Nothing about him having a direct chat with Nate the other day??

First of all, the Celtics haven't benched Nate for the 'same reasons as we did'. Suposedly D'Antoni benched Nate because he is this out of this world primadonna, who is uncoachable and a borderline sociopath. Intrestingly enough, we havent heard him make any waves in Boston.

The Celtics benched him because they have a tight, proven rotation and Nate doesnt fit. They brought him aboard specifically for a situation like game six and he came through. Good for him.

And as far as D'Antoni, what exactly do we pay him for? He can only coach players who fit his narrow ideals? Whatever happened to coaching them up? IMO, what happened with D'Antoni is that he saw an opportunity to throw players under the bus, and scapegoat them for the poor season, as a way to take heat off himself.

Sebstar, first off, you and I or none of us haven't got a clue why D'Antoni benched him. Personally, I think it was his disregard for defense and the team game at the time, but I could be wrong. Lets not pretend we do know.

Secondly, just because we haven't heard anything come out of Boston, doesn't mean it's not there. He's obviously getting a very minimal amount of playing time for a reason, because he has all the talent in the world to play ahead of Tony Allen and even share some minutes from Rondo and even Ray Allen. Why? Again, we don't know why it's happening, but it is.

As for D'Antoni, we can ask him to coach up players until the cows come home, but it's the players willingness to improve on defense and offense that is above all. If MDA can't get those players, then I can't see how it's his fault. There's only so much a coach can do, especially when he's paid to win NBA ball games, not change players games! It's up to the players to improve, it's up to the coach to work with the skills they have (Which we barely had a collection of skills to give ourselves an identity) and it's up to the GM to bring in guys willing to play on both ends.

Yes, Mike has f'ed up at times, but he's getting way too much crap, and I'm not even a big fan of his!

He benched him for, what, 13 straight games? Thats absurd for a player the caliber of nate and for a team the caliber of ours. Ur saying he benched nate over a lack of defense? D'Antoni??? haha.

And for the millionth time, its not just Nate. Both Hill and Darko improved overnight once they were freed from that egomaniac.

improved? care to tell us how? Darko, for all of his improvement, won 1 game as a Twolf, so he didnt' really improve team, and I can't really see how his own stats really increased to anything more than he has in past. Maybe Hill played a hint better in Houston than in NY, but improved?

Hell yeah he improved. He never got off the bench with us and he was a solid contributer for the T-Wolves. Yeah, they're trash but so are we so we cant act too good for a servicable big man.

And Hill improved more than a hint. C'mon now.

He improved in every statistical category, damn near. And the Rockets are a better team than us:

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/71908/Jordan_Hill

Despite that, the game often goes beyond the numbers. In NY, it looked like he didnt belong anywhere near an NBA court. It seemed like the Knicks were trying to fulfill some bizarre prophesy of Hill being a bust, as evidenced by D'Antoni taking that "he's not a good rookie" shot at him.

On the Rockets he's clearly gained a ton of confidence and he believes in himself. We'll see where he goes from here.

you factor in the per minutes played on both teams and the stats come out pretty even. And then you account for the fact that Houston is a better, more rounded team and Hill should have gotten even more better, and that didn't really pan out that way.

Thats the point, tho. Why in the holy hell was he not getting more minutes for us??? If anything it could have bumped up his trade value so that we wouldnt have had to include picks in the McGrady deal.

But beyond stats, this is more about sports psychology. It looks like he has a solid future now. He believes it, for sure.
