Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph was cleared of any wrong-doing in connection with an Indianapolis drug ring. The NBA all star is trying to repair his image and damage to his reputation.

First a drug ring in Indianapolis where a long-time friend of Randolph's was arrested in a vehicle registered to the NBA All-Star. He was also linked to a Los Angeles strip club beat down.

Randolph was not charged in either incident, but he was still painted guilty by association.

Z-Bo's critics are now saying the way to avoid de ja vu is simple, cut ties with the comrades who are damaging his image.

If the cops had come who knows how it would have turned out for me. The ground rules were immediately laid out after this. I lost a few friends that thought I was a sell out, but those who were worth keeping ties with understood what I was saying. I didn't want to live that life anymore. I'm a softy so in the past I gave in a few times and ignored my ground rules. I'm not sure how many times that led to me being around a fight or drugs or a weapon of some sort. LOL. No, not a millionaire and not a stick up kid. Got in a few fights protecting one of my boys and hung around with guys that got in a lot of trouble. Gangs weren't a huge problem in my neighborhood but I did lose a friend to drug violence. Got out of school and 4 of us got legit jobs and stay out of trouble. The rest of my boys are still doing what they were doing 10 years ago. Most of them make more then me doing it though. So maybe I'm in the wrong business.
