He looked noticeably slower and in more pain last night. If the trend continues against the Celts, I'd have to agree with Oohah: The writing is on the wall.
I had serious game in my twenties, had a complete ACL reconstruction among other left knee work, and rehabbed my ass off. It just isn't ever the same. Football players can come back because they move up and down the field. Hoops? Much harder. Watch TMac trying to move on defense. He struggles to stay with his cover more than a step or two. Telltale sign he is afraid of lateral movement. Besides, he can barely jump off that leg anymore.
Still, he has serious skills and can be productive for us this year. As for resigning, if he continues to play about 30 minutes a game this season and does well, I would say we give him an extended audition next year if it fits in the cap based on other moves. I mean, it IS TMac and he still has superstar skills even though he can't bring it every night. He also makes other players better with his vision, IQ and passing.
Last night sucked, but that's to be expected when so many new players are being melded into a new system. I was much more concerned with House chucking bricks repeatedly and Gallo disappearing than I was with the pain in TMac's knee.
