hell if the wizards are interested in trading, i'd send them expirings and jordan hill. atleast the wiz would be getting something in that deal.

not too many teams will give them that type of $$$ savings. considering they might be up for sale...and the new CBA in another year, maybe that's all it will take to get those 2 players.

Donnie's not going to sacrifice the 2010 plan for Butler & Jamison either.

that's the kind of trade we can make next year with curry and jeffries' contracts - AFTER we get a core guy to build around.

Butler & Jamison are a far cry from Curry & Jeffries next season dude

um. yeah - Curry and Jeffries would be the expirings used to acquire guys like Butler and Jamison next season. just saying those kinds of deals are possible once we sign a free-agent this summer. dude.

i know what u meant, but Jeffries & Curry won't land u Butler & Jamison type players next year... that's my point... Wizards are talking about guys like Ray Allen & Josh Howard for those guys, not scrubs like Fishlips & Curry.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Chris Boussard said both teams are close to a deal.

Im guessing it will look like this:

Big Z, Hickson, West, and Szczerbiak(signed to a deal to make contracts work, roughly 7 million)

for

Amare and Richardson

Phoenix saves ALOT of salary and would be able to sign a FA this summer.

Cleveland's bench gets a scoring boost with Richardson who will likely play the 6th man role AND they get a "stretch 4".

Everyone has to remember this has two paths:

Amare plays well and healthy and Cleveland re-signs him and LeBron to huge contracts (They have the bird rights to do so).

Or, Amare doesn't play well. He and Shaq clash as they did before, LeBron gets tired of this crap, and decides to move on.

And the outlier is: It doesn't matter what the hell Cleveland or LeBron do. The Knicks had to tear down their mess and had to put an end to the practices that created the mess. So LeBron or NOT - the Knicks are finally in good shape to start over. Something we all wanted them to do as far back as the day we traded Ewing.

Shaq is gone after this year. The trade for Amare is about the future. A lineup of Varejao, Amare, James, and Williams with Richardson off the bench will be a problem. Amare will get more shine since he will be viewed as a WINNER and the 2nd best player on that team.

I understand the Knicks needed to tear it down but we didn't do it the way a normal team does. We traded Crawford and Randolph for expiring instead of trying to squeeze out a young prospect or a pick. We havent been rebuilding for 2 years. We have been trying to dump salary and get buy until 2010. Regardless Dolan isn't going to let Walsh not sign anyone this summer. We are going to sign some guys to try to make the playoffs like we always do.

Amare is a hard screen away from being blind deaf and dumb.

I have said that there is a chance this trade happens, I made a thread weeks ago (got blasted for it) that this could happen, Amare might play well, and CLE with bird rights can re-sign him and LeBron and that's be the end of LBJ to NY.

But it doesn't trouble me.

As to what we might do this summer? Walsh is a very methodical and patient man. He's not going to pull a Chicago Bulls and give Joe Johnson (Jalen Rose at the time) the max and re-sign Lee to the max... because NO ONE ELSE is available. He won't do that.

That is not his M.O.

Dolan is pulling the strings here. Dolan doesnt care about winning and losing. Dolan cares about selling seats and he signs Walsh's checks. If you think we are switching into full rebuild mode you are mistaken. I can even see us extending Lee.

Suns waiting on Philly to tell them whether Andre Igoudala will be included with Sam Dalembert for Stoudemire-Barbosa package, sources say.

Thats just a lateral move for both teams, but I'd be pumped if Philly kept Amare away from Bron, Bron.

I think Jamison is a better option for this season especially, and maybe overall. He's actually a better rebounder than Stoudemire, he is at least as good on defense, and he is a much better shooter, ball handler and he can create on offense.

Stoudemire is much more dominant in the post, but the Cavaliers already have that in Shaq, who is starting to turn it on. Jamison fits better, he gives them a player for LeBron to kick the ball out to off drives and he can carry the offensive load as well if they collapse on James. Like Antoine Walker did in Miami when they won the championship.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

good move for the blazers if it works out. they've been tiny up front since Oden went down.

The San Antonio Spurs’ front office is working with Roger Mason’s(notes) agent to trade the veteran guard to a team where he can have a significant role.

“Roger had a terrific season last year after the Spurs had a bunch of injuries, and now that everyone is back healthy and his minutes are limited, the Spurs are trying to do the right thing and find a good spot for him,” Mason’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Yahoo! Sports on Monday.

Mason, 29, is averaging 19 minutes and 7.4 points per game. He averaged 30 minutes and nearly 12 points a game a season ago. Mason is in the final season of a two-year deal with Spurs.

One league executive says there’s “significant” interest from other teams in dealing for Mason
