I think Walker was drafted before Ew but he won dunk contests on two continents.

Funny how they picked 4-6 players back in the 80's. Thx for the link

Kenny "Floor" Walker had no J. Instead of resigning Bernard King to play alongside Ewing, they traded him away. The sirst of several follies.

4. Strickland, was he Knick pick?

You can make a strong case that Gerald Wilkins belongs in this group since he was drafted in the same draft as Ewing, but after him at #47. Also played a full 7 years with the Knicks.

Win wise... it's Charlie Ward.

I'll take the Charlie Ward Knicks over these David Lee Knicks. Not even a thought.

That's ridiculous. The question is best picks, not best overall teams. Of course you'd take Ward's Knicks, because Ward's Knicks weren't his!! He had all that good stuff around him, David Lee has Chris Duhon the junky!

Oh come'on. You don't remember the night he scored 21 points and said "It felt like it was my team." in the post game?

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT

(lol)

Yet, okay, fine.

Best picks since Ewing record ignored.

0. EWING
1. Lee
2. Chandler
3. Ward
4. Ariza
5. Jordan "Bosh Duncan Shaq Chaimberlain Jabbar Ewing Robinson Malone" Hill. (LOL)

Ward Ariza and Jordan ahead of Gallo? Gallo is beasting over Ariza in so many ways this season. He's eating him up, numbers-wise, and it's only his second year. Ward, yea, he was cool and all, but he was a manager not a dynamo. Gallo has the presence, Gallo is a superstar in the making.

There are two types of point guards in the universe. Creators and Managers. And I guess a third, Creator-Managers. Some creation is inherent in successful management and the other way around too. The best leaders are Creator-Managers (CM). Ward was a Manager, not a CM. Duhon is a Manager, but he's so bad that he's not really anything.

Beasting over Ariza?

Ariza is putting up twice the steals and twice the assists. Gallo's advantage is his adjusted field goal percentage. He needs to expand on that.

shouldnt the criteria be drafted by and played for a number of seasons for the knicks? ariza put up little in ny, same for rod, yet both did better outside of ny. to me, its lee. he has the stats + years. dg may get there to overtake him and maybe wilson too.

If you want to know who's the best player right now, it's Lee. If you're looking at who is most likely to have the best career, I'd say it's Gallo.

Yes, and even as I said that I realize I went back and posted Ariza in my list. ROFL.

Honestly, it's David Lee in terms of stats.

But win wise it is Charlie Ward.

Is it Lee's fault he's been on a garbage team all these years? Of course not. But you can't discount it either.

I still say Charlie Ward was our best pick because we went to the finals with him. Those late 90s big time Knicks teams were run by him. Sure he played with some amazing players but that shouldn't be used to take away what he did.

We were so used to such good players in the 90s that Charlie Ward looked mediocre to us.

Charlie Ward would rip Duhon's head off and crap down his throat.

So I guess what you can do is call it a tie between Lee and Ward. At least according to my retarded thought process.

Larry Bird the Second does have a chance to be something special. No doubt.

Whether he realizes his potential or gets past his injury problems (which are clearly ongoing) is something we just don't yet know.

Gallo has same stats as Chandler with less touches....... Like the Mayor but hands down Gallo is
more talented!!

Fuck stats...watch the game. Chandler has more of an impact on the game than Gallinari does. Can you explain how Gallo is more talented than Wilson Chandler?

Better SHOT...... Better Passer!!! Smarter selection..... equal in D even though I think The Mayor has more lapses then Gallo!

Better in the Clutch!!....... Better post moves!! ........ All around better even if Will is more athletic!!

that's a lot of exclamation points!

are we talking best draft pick period..or best homegrown player (drafted and then developed here)

if we're talking best draft pick period: Mark Jackson

best homegrown player...uhh..Charlie Ward? David Lee? Gallo? Chandler?

hard to say as we have no idea where Gallo/Chandler end up career-wise but I'd say it's David Lee

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
