Looking at their relative performance for the past two seasons, who's the better player - Lee or Stoudemire? Lee seems to be the better all-around player to me - certainly he's a better passer. His jump shooting has evolved to a whole nother level this year (I almost expect them to be announcing Ewing's name). In spite of taking a ton of jumpers, his FG% remains 55%+. I'd argue that David Lee runs the floor just as well as Stoudemire.

Amare's game may have plateaued. He's never averaged double figure rebounds over the course of a season (though admittedly he's come quite close).

I don't think either player plays particularly note-worthy defense.

I have no problem with Lee. He's showing with each passing game that he still had upside and is still getting better. WHile it's easy now to say that we should've signed Lee, it was smart on DW to make sure that Lee was worth the money. I think Lee has shown that he's perfect for this system. Sure he isn't the defensive force we need but he does everything else and we can get shotblocking from other areas.

It's really hard IMO to get a good gauge on Amare cause he plays with a super star PG who makes everybody better then they really are ( see marion). Lee also has developed his game around mikes system which (maybe) makes him look better then he actually is.

At this point i will take lee base on his durability. I'm sure some of you for got that Lee was coming off a frustrating injury and got off to a slow start offensively last season, his offensive numbers started going up towards the last 2 months of the season.

His shooting % with a ton of jump shots is really impressive, and it shows how hard he works. He also has a great attitude and a above avg IQ, i could actually see lee having a 40/20 game this season the more the guys start trusting him. He's a hell 've re bounder and can shoot with both hands. the guy is going to get his 12 mill this off season easy.
If the knicks are close to .500 by the all star break (no less then 2 games under) I fully expect the coaches to vote him in.
