I do not want to watch that plotline again. If we bring a vet/future HOF in, I want a leader for our youths & someone who plays defense. I don't see A.I. bringing either.

Frankly I don't care about his track record I would rather see him at least drive the land then watch harrington, chandler, duhon miss jump shots.

Worst case scenario we banish the guy and let him go. Duhon is getting 30 minutes a night and iverson can do everything he can but better. Play Iverson-Douglas-Gallo-Lee-Curry I am fine with that with Hill, Nate, Chandler getting the majority of the time off the bench. Harrington in my opinion needs to go asap.

Exactly... I originally said no to AI, but Duhon has earned his departure. I actually dont want him to improve.

Really, man. 'd rather lose 81 games then go through another soap. We're still getting Marbury residue. Imgagine AI?? God.

LET ME POSE IT THIS WAY:

Do you think 10 year old kids want Iverson on the Knicks?? YES

There you go. You're all thinking like 10 year old boys. Now that's logic.

Let's me backtrack... who knows, A.I. could lead our youths in a way. I like him and his grit, his heart. But he is very inflexible about how he wants to do that. Flexibility & attention to reality remains a priority over wins & ego. I just don't see him, and our current roster & situation being a good match. Let me just leave it at that.

Blob, chill baby. Ain't that serious. A.I. has a lot of fans, and this is an all-time lousy start. I don't blame folks for wanting this. I'm just arguing on the side of patience & not complicating an already tricky task of keeping us from being the Clippers East for the next decade.

Dude, I appreciate your wisdom and patience.

But I just can't get over it. This is a mistake. It's as clear as night and day. I take a lone stand. No compromise. ::end transmission::

snow and hill were veterans that probably taught iverson a thing or two about heart and determination.

douglas and gallo already know about all that as rookies, we don't need some washed up malcontent to 'teach' them anything. gimme a break.

Still haven't explained how Iverson is a cancer who has negative affects on rookies. Iverson is about 6'0 170. Heart and determination is what landed him in this league. Highly doubt Snow taught him that.

Who said anything about teaching anyone? You said he didn't make players better. I said, Iversons heart and determination raised the level of play on the court. Never seen Iverson zombie walking on any hardwood floors....

I get that AI certainly is far from the most attractive acquisition. I get it. But in which universe is the status quo more attractive than signing a former mvp/scoring champ/all star? This team sucks and there is no risk here. If he's detrimental to the team, do exactly what Memphis did. I bet AI is better the second time around this season than the first

When the status quo entails:

*Building a winning attitude.
*Developing youth.

Iverson comes here you got a malcontent with a disgraceful attitude, a bad influence, and a guy that will take minutes away from Toney Douglas.

It's a losing scenario for us.

No reason to take on Iverson and I just hope this will be the same as the courtship of Jason Williams, Jamaal Tinsley, etc - and end up being nothing.

Hopefully the Cavs will try to step in and sign him with West gone. Then I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Besides: What on earth is Iverson going to do for our record? NOTHING!

If signing AI buries Douglas on the bench I will not be happy and would not endorse signing him. But if it means Duhon is benched I'm okay with him. Yes, AI is a bit of a malcontent but I don't see how he makes the locker room any worse.... I mean, the young guys are surrounded by high paid lethargic crap. I still maintain the team has nothing to lose by signing him (including the development of our the younger dudes) and might actually become enjoyable to watch with him here.

Not to mention, if he's signed to an awesome contract and averages 20 PPG maybe at the deadline he nets us a pick... which I don't think is an unreasonable possibility

I certainly don't want to lose the rest of our games. Don't mistake someone else's hyperbole for my point:

Folks are saying "it can't hurt".
I say "how does it help, if we are rebuilding?"

Folks are saying it's a "win-win".
To me, sounds like David Lee talking about a "feel-good" loss. Well, we didn't make the playoffs like we knew we wouldn't, but wasn't that night A.I. got 40/6/2 awesome?

How is it a win-win for D'Antoni to have a player he can't move to the bench if that works best for his gameplan that night?

I actually don't think that AI is gonna be a big problem, but with all that MDA has on his plate already, it could turn into a circus and I just don't see Walsh or MDA wanting to risk that. Right now we have TD and Nate who I think could easily give us what AI is able to do at this point in his career. Nate is in a slump, but when he's right, the guy can flat out score. Isn't that pretty much all we'd be getting from AI. I won't scream if we get AI, I just don't think it's absolutely necessary. TD and Nate are enough IMO. LEt them play.

This whole losing streak seems to me to be the kind of thing that will turn around. The fact that so many guys are slumping at the same time is a bit of a fluke. What's gonna happen when they get hot? My bet is that at some point this team catches fire and rallies with a few wins in a row and then things won't seem so desperate.

I'm MUCH more comfortable with AI running the point over Nate.

If AI comes here, it has to be with the understanding that Gallo is a FOCAL point of the offense, and he needs to at least attempt to be a distributor.
