^^Yea that's true! D'Antoni isn't shy to experiment, but I think the experimentation will be less than last year. This year he has a pretty good feel for what his guys can do, or most of them.
WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

starting linup announced...to quote D'Antoni "don't wrry about who starts..worry about who finishes"

As others have mentioned this lineup will probably not be the one that begins the real season.

I would go 9 man and use some zone with the starting unit.

C-Darko
F-Lee
F-Jefferies
G-Gallinari
G-Duhon
Nate 6th man
Chandler
Harrington
Douglas

As much as I would like to see CHandler start, starting Al is probably the right thing to do. This team is going to win by scoring. Al going one-on-one with Lee doing the pick and roll with Duhon is about as potent an offense as we have. If Hughes can learn to curb his gunner mentality and create for others more, we would have a pretty solid starting five. Where we will beat teams though is with our bench. Jeffries, Gallo, Chandler, and Nate is probably one of the most offensively potent second units in the league.

I prefer this line up but would like to see darko over jeffries. However, if starting jeffries moves his contract, I am all for it. I still liked his acquisition, but since the melo fight he had zero confidence.

Curry will be the expiring we use to bring in melo. Stick a fork in him.

With Hughes and Tony Douglas in the mix. Where does this leave Nate?

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

I wonder if Jeffries is going to get minutes to be showcased for a possible trade. D'Antoni said Curry has 10or 11 guys in front of him so it doesn't appear that he is going to be playing soon. I think once Chandler is healthy he will bump someone out of the starting line up.

I can't believe what I'm reading here...

Chandler shouldn't start?

Chandler's not ready for prime time?

He's our best player and impacts both ends of the floor.

Chandler has a better efficiency rating than Duhon. He's got to be developed too. If he's not our future, then who is?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

From Newsday 10/9

Notes & quotes: Chris Duhon was excused from yesterday's practice for personal reasons. A team spokesman said he will make the trip to Boston and is expected to play . . . Mike D'Antoni said he plans to change up the starting lineup for tonight's game, with Jared Jeffries getting a look at center, David Lee back at power forward and the possibility that Al Harrington could be used as a sixth man.

If we didn't have Curry and Jefferies we could win an NBA championship via free agency next season, because I am starting to like some of our parts.

I think we win a lot more games this year if we can just stick to running the offense, Harrington cuts down on his three point attempts they play smarter and get something out of Gallo (12-15pts a night)

I think our bench is going to be a real strength on the defensive end of the ball with Douglas, Hughes, Nate, Darko, Jefferies.

It's going to be interesting to see how mike works the rotation, I would like to see more of a pressure style defense out there and play just about everyone. The starting lineup of Duhon-Chandler-Jefferies-Harrington-Lee. I like what Gallo brings off the bench with Nate offensively. It's easier to get Jefferies out there with offensive minded players so he doesn't have to worry about doing anything

If Chandler and Gallo are able to play at the 2 & 3 slots, respectively, I would prefer to have Lee start at PF and have Jeffries or Darko at C. I still see Harrington as a great 6th man spark player, who comes in with Nate, Douglas, and Darko or Jeffries.

knicks best player going to be a sixman-- thats cute. its shaping up to be jeffries at c. his length alone and his knack for keeping busy gives him the job by default if he can keep getting baskets like he did in first pre-game man he will turn into good tradebait this season.

Psir him up with Hughes and dump a ton? LOL Depends how they play out of the gate...if... and that should likely be IF they come out hot and competitive you might not see any trades till it's been determined that the playoffs are out of reach.
