It's an important point, and I don't think it can be repeated too many times.

When you don't have a franchise player, your going to be making moves for the hell of it, cause who would you be surronded your players around, the coach. Thats been the problem since Ewing's departure.

You just start grabing talented sub par players.

well i'd put it slightly differently:

When you don't have a franchise player, your going to be making moves for the hell of it, cause who would you be surronded your players around, the coach. Thats been the problem since Ewing's departure.

You just start grabing talented sub par players.

To put it more eloquently:

When you don't have a franchise player, you're going to be making moves for the hell of it. Because who would you surrounded your players around? The coach? That's been the problem since Ewing's departure. You just start grabbing talented sub par players.

Yeah, it should be more like this:

now THAT makes sense.

Well when you put it that way,

I wouldn't normally note and correct spelling (I didn't address a very glaring sentence structure issue, but did underline the offending part.), but your attempt at correction was "sub par" and I just remembered that I have to be back in HS next week for the return of the little lovelies, so I need the practice.

This team is going to get caught in a conundrum of having to renounce contracts--see other players leave quickly via FA and we have no idea what most of the guys who most likely will be here can actually do. I think it's very very important that we try as hard as we can to win THIS year. We bet last year on Crhis Duhon and he failed the 2nd half of the year. We have a chance to utilize Duhon and Sessions perhaps with some spot minutes from Douglas to keep that position strong. To me Sessions is the most under rated FA that people are missing the boat on. If we end up having to renounce Duhon and Nate leaves who exactly is playing PG in 2010? It really appears as if we are trying to roll a 7. Lets get Sessions--I think TD needs time in the D league to be honest--if he couldnt shoot or finish in SL what happens against the big boys? Troy Bell ring a name? He needs development time
Sessions to me over 100 games is proven to be worthy of a 3-4 years 4--4.5mm$ contract. Why would I bet my team on a rookie who was air balling the rock from 6 feet and couldnt finish at the rim? It just gets harder--Im not saying he cant find his niche but because he plays below the rim with a sahky J--it will take time. If Duhon goes down--we are left with nothing.

I agree that if we have to renounce certain players (Nate, Lee, Duhon), it will be painful to let an asset go for nothing; however, far better to not lock up marginal players at rates that don't match up with their production as concerns wins, and not stats.

Signing Lee to $10MM for 5 years doesn't help our cause. We'd be better off finding a role player who isn't quite as good as Lee, but who also gets paid far less.

The bottomline, if we want Lebron, this team needs to make the playoffs. Whether that is from riding Curry, signing Sessions, or throwing elbows, they need to fight their way into the playoffs and show up in the first round. Then if you can manage to trade Curry at some point in the season, we should be able to sign two max players. If you can get Bosh, I think Lebron might follow. Our team would be:

Douglas/Duhon
Chandler
Lebron/Gallo
Bosh/Hill
Darko

That is a fairly solid squad that can be improved with other minor signings. It would be better than Cleveland's present team.

LONDON -- King James could soon be looking for a new realm.

LeBron James, who is in England as part of a worldwide promotional tour, said Saturday it is still unclear whether he will stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers when his contract runs out at the end of the upcoming season.

"I haven't decided," said James, who also spoke to dozens of kids wearing T-shirts with "Earn the crown" and "The King is coming" written on them.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

That's as blatant as a player under contract will ever be about leaving IMO.

Its gonna be a long season with James flirting with leaving and staying every single day. No words he says will get us closer to an answer so the best we can do is just wait and see...

AAAA, pow :does a kung-fu move: take that you 2010 non believers ! And as far as Sessions, any player that takes a chance on a Minnesota was it or Grizzlies? Always mix those 2 up but the point is i want new guys on the team knowing what we are about and wanting to be a part of that even for 1 measly millon less. Might seem crazy but you'll be able to have a much different next contract after playing for MDA over whoever coaches the timberwolf/grizzlie team. In other words, Sessions just turned down a chance to be next Steve Nash. I don't want a player like that.
