Question, why is it that most people assume that David Lee is the Knicks best player?

Who is Knicks best player? Marbury?

MARBURY cant escape these forums, lol. Let him be! I can't see Lee as being the guy, for a variety of reasons.. I like him, I think he is effective. But not a go to guy, or a game changer... I think that the Knicks BEST player last year was Al Harrington, Ultimately on both sides of the ball it is Wilson Chandler. His problem... he is inconsistent and cant create his own shot.. needs to take over games, hopefully as he matures it will happen for him!

If you are right it is so sad...

Whats truly even more depressing is that David Lee... widely considered as being our best player wouldn't be the 3rd option on a good team/ we severely over value our players and the sad part is that they are really not that good.

Harrington is the best on this NYK team though... If he wasn't such a nut, i'd be confident in building around him

A one-year deal doesn't help the 2010 plan at all unless they renounce to Lee's rights, which contradicts the supposed desire to keep him.

I'm still convinced the best way to go for the Knicks is to get any future assets for Lee and Nate.

That is what Walsh should have done last season. We could have gotten rid of jeffries by trading Nate. Teams would have been lining up to give us something for Lee. In fact, we probably could have gotten a top-10 pick in this year's draft for Lee from Washington, OKC, Clippers, or Grizzles.

Walsh seems stuck in-between plans. Or, rather, Walsh has his plan (to resign Nate and Lee) and is going to play hardball to do it. It might turn out for the best, but it also could blowup in our face. It is never wise to piss off the players you are supposedly building around.

Until you tell us, we'll keep going by what we have heard and you'll keep getting pissy. You can end it all.

It cracks me up what you read about David Lee in the paper that is negative it is true. What his agent says or David says is false. No one knows what David is asking for and no one knows what the Knicks are offering.

Heh? You don't think we're low-balling Dave? And you think there are no offers out there for S&T's?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I think Lee and his agent is defenetally not. And Walch is using computer only to check his prescription drugs.

Alrite, alrite here is the thing. . . if its so damn hard to resign freakin David Lee i am pretty sure Walsh is on the right track with trying to get cap space for future free agents. I'd love to offer another team's best player the money at or above the market value. As long as that player can be our franchise. Not David Lee.

Statistically David Lee was our best player last year. He does this by fitting in the flow of the game and does not need the ball to be effective.

In the right circumstance he is worth the money and can add value to a team further along. But that is easier said than done.

I'd like to see a scenario that MDA thinks Ty Thomas could be a great player in his system and we are able to get him. Bulls have to marry him with an expiring to make it work. Maybe not Ty thomas but a situation that is forward looking for us.

You live in an age of oversaturated media. Every rumor, blurb, snippet, guess and peice of speculation is stated as fact. Fans then respond to this guess, rumor or piece of speculation based on how it affects their own opinion.

If you like Walsh then he is playing his cards right. He's being patient and waiting for the best possible deal for the team. Or Lee is delusional asking for more money.

If you are skeptical of Walsh then he is old, senile, sleeping, direspecting Lee, turning down good deals.

Very few of us openly admit that we don't know what is going on and will reserve judgement on the summer, when the summer is actually over. I'm not in on the negotiations so I'm not going to demonize Lee, Walsh, D'Antoni or the Trailblazers.

Some take a different tact. "I don't know all the facts but I do believe that Donnie Walsh is behaving stupidly"
I just hope that people will like me
