come on man...lighten up...y'all are way too serious...

it's ok to make fun of walsh's age and stuff like that. posting pics of him as an old senile man is pure jokes.

but walsh is doing anything but rushing. the only 2 moves he rushed on were trading zach and crawford and he may have waited too long on zach b/c of the rumored cap space/2nd round pick they offered first.

everything else he's done has been very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very deliberate...

and i know you know that's a good thing. you can do more damage with the wrong move here than you can do good with the right one. that's just by virtue of the moves that we can make. if this was chess, the knicks would be a sorry ass pawn that can't do nothing but move forward and diagonally (on occassion). next year, we'll be all over the board.

it really depends. if the guy is a smart gm, then making a quick move doesn't mean it's a bad move. everyone is scared of isiah part 2 but dumars and colangelo proved making a risky move can work out. and more recently, presti made some high risk moves that worked out as well. isiah's plan was not a flawed one but the guy making the decisions was a nutjob. the single one advantage the knicks have is money and they are not using it. but walsh made his choice so it's lebron/wade or bust. i really don't buy into the flexibility stuff when all the other free agents at that time could be found via trades (comparable players).

presti also sat on $9M worth of cap room this summer. that's called patience.

dumars rushed to trade Billups for Iverson and that blew up in his face and he's capped out again with no PG.

colangelo gave bargnani $53M when no one else on the planet would have given him $33M.

it's all relative, man. walsh has been patient and he's still got time and flexibility to make big moves in the next year. if you think that if we don't get wade or bron next summer that we aren't getting at least one major major piece, i think you are mistaken.

these are just the dog days of summer and everyone is antsy. i'd rather be antsy than have the knicks stink for the next 5 years because we spend $150M on Nate, Sessions and Dlee.

like i said many times over, this season is another throw away guys... don't have ur expectations up to make any serious run at the playoffs this year... Donnie will try & get whatever veteran castoffs w/an expiring that he can to fill in the gaps like he did last year, but in the end it's still all about 2010... MDA will give Fishlips max run so he can try & pawn him off at the deadline somehow... if Curry can handle the minutes then the same will happen for him... the young kids will be given a full run to be evaluated so that MDA & Walsh can figure out if they also fit into the long range plans or if they will be used as trade assets later... this is what rebuilding teams do, get used to it guys.

Its is what it is dude..the guys tatics are mind boggling to most. On the other hand you see no problem in interviewing guys that mean nothing to us after this year. There not attracting and big FA, there not leaders, they were never big time players other then kidd and hill.

Its a joke GFK..listen to the radio, tv, the papers.

I still can't believe artest was never ever giving a call, yet you bring in tinsley who you exiled..

I don't. I don't let outside stuff influence my opinion. You do, which is why you're usually typing nonsense. The only people whose mind is "boggled" by what we're doing are people who have no idea how to build a successful basketball team. Example: Believing Ron Artest would sign here or would be a good fit here at this point in time. Artest needs to be on a veteran, winning team. This is something we are not.

Yes, I see no problem going after guys who "mean nothing to us after this year". It's not about this year anyway. Everyone and their mother knew this. Please tell me someone who is out there that will make an impact that you want to sign and that will sign here.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

speak for yourself. IMHO, they are not mind boggling.

When Walsh got here we all knew this was a two holding pattern. We simply can't do anything right now that would mess up our flexibility in the future. The big holdup with Sessions is again about trying to get better without messing up the future. Going after vets that will take a one year deal is smart, cuz it might help to push this team into the playoffs and despite this year being a waste overall, getting to the playoffs would have a ton of benefits for the young players we'll be keeping and for any vets looking to come here in 2010.

if gallinari doesn't become a superstar player, we're doomed.

not all italians can turn out to be super duper top 50 hall of fame type players...

yeah just look at the cautionary tale of Andrea Bargnani

my point exactly. just b/c bargnani is borderline the best big man in nba history doesn't mean gallo can follow in his footsteps...

i think it's alot to ask for knicks fans to just chill out until 2010. i really do hope knicks get lebron b/c the fanbase has taken a beating...which includes last season and this upcoming season (b/c no expectations of playoffs). the only difference is that there isn't any drama. and the only reason i say lebron is b/c knicks fans are all about championship or bust...where nothing but a championship is considered winning...

When you bring in Duhon, larry hughs, al harrington, the same guys that have either been in winning situatins and are veterens and still lose, what are you suppose to think. I mean look at the situation, Larry had not played in months, al had not played in months and duhon was a back up.

These players where done by the 4th qrtr.

If you expect these guys who have either age or dust on there asses to all of a sudden pop a 5hr energy booster and be able to run up and down in mikes system, ur kidding yourself.

These guys are not even solid rentals

I give up. Clearly you don't read and respond to anything anywhere.

So I'll pull a knicks1248:

hey guys, this walsh is an idiot and just tread water until he retires. just save time and fire him now. im sick of losing and my mind is boggled by what he is doing. larry hughes??? this is the future?? dear lord, we are doomed.

Ok GFK now your being dumb. I'm not entirely knocking walsh for everything he's done. I also don't want him fired.
I'm just not convince that every step walsh is taking is the right one..I disagree with people sometimes but that doesn't mean I hate them and want them gone. I'm also a guy who looks at both sides of the story and your prospective on the issue may have a few good points, but at the same time you have no resume on walsh that says he will flat out build us a championship team..none

what we are seeing from Walsh this summer is the type of innovative player prospecting any team looking to unseat Larry Bird's Celtics needs

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

5 yr $50 mil for Hedo is more Laydenesque than anything Donnie has ever done

seriously? i know you are but what i am? lol...

getting back to the knicks...guys, y'all don't have to defend every little thing walsh does. he has done some positives but the past few weeks do not inspire.

that could change but talking to stackhouse, jwill, grant hill? really? where is the progressive thinking? does walsh still think it's 99 and not 09? unless he still thinks it's 1909...

Glad I'm not alone in seeing this as just a pure waste of time....and that neither of the mentioned players would do anything of value for the team be it more wins (lol, yeah right) or mentoring (kidd maybe but poor attitude, grant hill yes, stackhouse sort of) but what do you even gain by that? Retire and become a coach then. There's plenty of people we could hire as trainers to mentor the youth.

I just don't understand.... doesn't anyone want to watch Toney Douglas show us if he has anything? Or would we rather watch JWill throw a ball behind the back into the stands and scream at the refs like it's their fault and then attack reporters after the game?

Do we want to bring in Stackhouse and sit him on the bench in a suit for 56 games? Then tell him to retire and hire him as an assistant coach!

But as players? As if they're upgrades? Unless we have some major trades lined up that leave us completely bare bones hanging in the wings what on earth is the point?

What's Donnie's list look like after Stackhouse?

Brevin Knight
Dough Christie
Muggsy Bogues
John Stockton
Kevin Willis
Charles Oakley
Dennis Rodman
Dikembe Mutombo
Willis Reed
Wilt Chaimberlain's Corpse.

The hell, Walsh, just open a damn soup kitchen already.

Cosmic don't you understand?
Walsh is doing exactly what you want - making impressions of working hard on some players but getting none of them.
The corporate business (and MSG is not an exception) is 95% politics and 5% substance.
Let the man do his job, which he knows million times better that any of us.
