not a Bayless fan... at all. Hated his FG% in college. All I see is Jamal Crawford part II. A volume shooting off guard in a point guard's body.

Hinrich is a real PG, and he is one of the better defenders at the position. We need guys like that on the floor late in games. A guy that can drill a three, set up a teammate for an easy score and get then get a stop. He's a real two way guy.

Yea, he is just not flashy, so people think he has reached his ceiling and that he is just another decent player.. Hinrich is a tough player, and a lot of teams would love to have him as their PG...

Hinrich is a good point guard...He's busy and he knows how to make things happen in that top of the key to foul line area. His first step is good and don't sleep cuz he's a good finisher and passer.

Anyway....

Tyrus thomas, Brad Miller and Hinrich for Jared, Lee, and Cuttino

tyrus and hinrich for jared and lee is more realistic...go Donnie Go!!!

If we S&T Lee to the Bulls it either has to be a 3 way deal or we'd have to do something like Jeffries/Lee for Jerome/Tyrus in order to make the salaries match.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

hinrich has sucked the last couple years
had one of the best +/- on the team last year.

His over all #s have been down with Chi's glut of guards but he's been good. He's a good shooter, a great defender and a heady player. Good assist/TO ratio and midrange game. I think if he was on a better team he would get a lot more recognition.

Lee/Duhon/JJskinny for Hinrich and Jerome James.

Lee played most all his minutes at center last year. I think this balances us much better. Hinrich is a saavy veteran started who plays at both ends and JJSkinny leaving offsets his contract (which is going down not up 9.5m 9m and 8m remaining).

It forces us to play a center.. either Curry or Darko. Starting Hinrich and Hughes makes us so much better on D as well.

A lineup of Hinrich, Hughes, Chandler, Harrington and Curry with Nate, Gallo and whoever wins that 8th rotation spot with good play (Darko, Douglas, Hill).

If the stars align Curry has a good start... something to the tune of 14 points, 6 rebs in 24 minutes on 55% shooting and we trade his ass away.

Good luck on this one. Ya know I was one of the few guys thinking this guy could stick around and pull himself together to be a decent center for us. But after seeing what he looks like AFTER supposedly losing weight, I've given up hope. Let's hire Oakley and sic him on Curry. Curry will either tough it up, or cry himself into retirement.

I'd do Lee + Jeffries for Hinrich + Noah

Salaries match. They want to dump Hinrich ($9 mil this year, $8 mil next) and we want to dump Jeffries ($6.4 mil)

Noah can run the court; Hinrich can play point; shoots well from outside and he can also play SG.

And that makes our 2010 cap space worse. Now instead of Jeffries at 6M you got Hinrich at 9M - along with Curry. And everyone else. Now we're on the books for 30M in 2010 not including Lee or Nate or anyone else we might want to re-sign (Duhon, Harrington, Darko, etc.)

This just keeps getting worse not better.

Hinrich can stay in Chicago. What are we going to do with a very well paid average SG/PG tweener? Come'on...there HAS to be better options out there.

I'd rather let Lee walk before I took back Hinrich and Rock Head Tyrus.

doesnt change your ability to get a max player. Hinrich's salary is $3mm more and its attached to a guy thats a starter on your team, as opposed to a bench player you cant even afford to give minutes to showcase. You get rid of a bad contract in JJ and you get something in return for Lee (a starting PG).

Not sure why people would think Hinrich is a tweener or a stop gap. If I could have either my choice of Hinrich or Session for even money I would take Hinrich every day. He can shoot and he defends. One of the better defenders at PG in the league. He gets after guys. He's 28 so you have a nice long stretch of time with him.

I know its ambitious. But we do know he's lost some weight and is working hard to get strong. He's young enough that his body should bounce back quickly if he's working hard at it.

fingers crossed

If we stood pat right now, renounced Lee and Nate, and signed a max player? We have about 7M under the cap - somewhere around there. This means no Duhon, Darko, Harrington, Lee, Nate - or any of the other FA's we were rumored to sign like Sessions, Kidd, Hill, Miller, etc.

So we do the Hinrich trade, and still stand pat, we add 3M.

That makes us 4M under the cap with our max FA in the summer of 2010 - and a bare ass bones roster. Again, no Duhon, Lee, Nate, Al, etc.

You think this is doable? I don't.

The Hinrich trade means we give up 2010 and try our best to score with our 50M expirings this year ala Isiah.

And, again, I like Hinrich, but not enough to take his salary on. I'd rather lose Lee for NOTHING.
