you know, with a coach as heralded as d'antoni, you think they could've been a little more patient to see what they had...

I think everyone is forgetting about the bad vibes around the team. There was no desire to go to bat with that team, win 35 games, grab an 8th seed and pray to god all season that the team doesn't implode and create another headline grabbing mess. It was time to clear this roster. Get some time for Gallo(if he had been healthy), Nate, Lee and Chandler. It was time to move on from the vets and "see what we had" with the young guys, not a group of malcontents.

There is a method to the madness, but we refuse to admit how low we had sunk. We still are on this imaginary trip in which that team was actually good, "they just needed the right coach".
I just hope that people will like me

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what they had was complete and utter horse dung. You could have Red Auerbach and Phil Jackson in here and it wouldn't make a difference.

All that went on the last 3 years of Isiah and we still think it was a good idea to hold that team together??????

This is amazing to me.

i see no negative for making the playoffs given the state of the franchise and how bad it's been for 7+ years. the bad vibes were created by d'antoni for benching marbury from the get go and not letting walsh in on it.

No. I'm not a rocket scientist but apparently you are Nostradamus. You take a 6-5 record and automatically predict that a team that a team that won 23 games the previous season would be a playoff team. It had been said, so it should have been. Too bad your vision did not come through.

Some of you are clearly not looking at the chemistry factor and what led to that 23 win team..IT knew he was gone, nobody had a role, and the players knew it was a lame duck...Aside from curry that roster went out and wrk there buts off during the off season came to camp pump and ready wide eyed and all..Even mda was pleasently suprise..they were all hanging out at summer league (except curry) working out together and marbury was doing his thing..

The more people say certain contracts can't be traded the more it happens...eisley,was the most over paid athlete in sports history..gone in a trade then brought out..

Please don't give me that crap about zachs contract being untradable, or anyone for the matter..

Now we have a roster that couldn't give 2 shts about each other and will have 0 chemistry... Take a look around the NBA and NYK is the only team. That has pin there last hope on 2k 10...There teams that are trying to get under the cap or close to it, but 2/3 of our roster are in lame duck status....

Isiah supporter #2 in da house. Loved most of his moves, thought the team was fixed nicely and suffering from "chemistry issues" and that we were a playoff team with that roster. Funny to see the remnants of some of his supporters from that time. One thing about this breed: they don't go away easily.

we have seen 37 win teams make the playoffs... its not a positive.

You can't criticize Walsh and NOT be a Isiah supporter that's the straw man argument around these parts.

You seem like a care-free fan. It's probably good for your mental health because it sounds like you get a lot of enjoyment out of your team. If every fan had your perspective, I don't think GMs would feel any pressure to put a good team on the floor though.

fielding a high level winning team is not easy...especially with the way the CBA is structured...so wins, to me, is not the end all be all when it comes to enjoying the product. but if you put together a team that is unique with players i like, then it's all good...
