It's just a euro-bias is all. It's no more than that, whether people want to admit to it or not is a whole different story.

This is a bad post, especially coming from you NYK. So questioning this kid who has major red flags in his game and physique, is shrouded in mystery, and is commanding a huge buyout and a lot of maneuvering is just euro bias? He's projecting as a top 3 pick, bro you have to put him under the microscope. Why is he so deserving of special treatment?

Dont know why you said that

How is it a bad post. Although, I probably should have been more direct in who I was talking about (cough, Briggs, cough) since he says the same thing about every Euro player.

well yeah, you gotta address him directly on something like that. I dont think that all the cats that are questioning Rubio around here are jingoistic, nationalistic, Rush limbaugh junkies.

No, I don't either. That was my bad.

Tyreke Evans will be an All Star in 3 years

Im with you man--second best player in the draft--if were going to give up stuff to get 2 then pick the second best player

Now, this I do agree with you on Briggs. I don't know about 2nd best player in the draft, but he's in argument. My only hope is that the Knicks "interest" in him isn't just a smoke-screen.

I agree that it would be better to have 5 and 8 then just 2, even if 2 is Rubio. At 5, you will probably have your choice of Curry or Evans. At 8, you can take a big or go SG. NY needs a PG and a real C. THey have assets in Lee, Robinson and Mobleys' contract to get a SG.

Walsh is pretty savvy, he knows that he needs talent to lure Lebron. If NY walks away from the draft with a decent PG (Curry, Evans, Rubio, Flynn) and a solid big (Hill, Thabeet, ??) then I think it would be a perfect draft.

Al that being said, I think Rubio will be great, I just would not want to give up Chandler and 2 picks to get him. 1 pick and an expiring is fine.

Why do the guys with the high BB IQ sit at the end of bench and cheer in their street clothes while the guys with the low BB IQ get so much playing time in the NBA. That always seem kinda funny to me. I guess it makes since. Why work for your money when you can cheer like a fan and still get paid.

It's funny cuz, when there's a draft with clear studs at the top, it's not as interesting as this one. So for all the bashing this crop gets the dizzying scenarios make it very exciting to see how it all turns out.

I'm praying that we get that 5th spot in addition to the 8th, cuz then we can open a lot of other options.

What amazes me is that Briggs seems to think Rubio is some Spanish hick who comes out of a small obscure Spanish town with an inflated BB reputation due in part to his success against the sheep and goats who were his opponents in that small obscure town.

Rubio has had one of the most well-documented careers of any recent European player- a career which culminated in his being chosen for the Spanish Olympic team. I am not sure how much more exposure and scrutiny a player could have had than what Rubio has had on the Spanish, European, and World stages he has competed on.

The guy I really want is Curry. I'm not sure how I feel about Rubio, but with all the rumors flying around, I'm trying to get a handle on each part of his game. This is what I've come up with so far.
1) Passing - He's an elite passer. Even his critics agree.
2) Outside shooting - He's been criticized here, but he shot over 40% from the European 3 and 80% from the three throw line in the ACB this season.
3) Defense - He does get the steals and that's good, but does he have the lateral quickness to be a good one on one defender? I'm skeptical.
4) Ball handling - No one questions his ability in this area.
5) Penetrating - I can't find much on this. Can someone fill me in?

I dont think I am willing to give up Chandler to grab the 5th pick in this weak ass draft. Nobody other than Griffin grabs me to be quite honest.

I disagree about his passing. He has been credited for making highlight passes but he is also equally bashed for making dumb passes. Just look at his high turnovers. That is a wash as far as I am concern.

Im sorry but this player has played 13 games in the Adult Euor league. You are acting like he has had a 4 year documented career at Duke where he was an All America averaging 20-10-5 leading them to 2 NC and was a secondary PG for team USA. he's had no career yet--hes going on 19

he played a whole season and was defensive player of the year there. What did BJ Mullens do in the NCAA?

In a lot of ways Curry/Rubio are easily the safe picks past Griffen in this draft because they both LOVE the game of BB and are both gym rats.

All these guys have great talent and skills.

This. But is he a "true" PG? He played SG at Memphis and is no doubt an absolute STUD, but I'm not sure he can handle the point in the League. That being said, I will be happy if we take him (assuming Curry is off the board) or Flynn.

I'd much rather keep the 5 and 8 if we can get the 5 from Washington. Curry and a big like Hill or a swing man would be a lot more appealing than taking a shot on Rubio.

I agree. I think the whole idea of trading up to 2 is a Vescey story seller.

Mikan was a pretty decent stiff legged PreEUro Player in his days. The first great Laker. Was Minnesota part of the union back in that day?

Cousey is a croation pass first with eastern Euro hairy leggs!
