giving up our #8 pick for Sergio Rodriguez would be monumentally stupid IMO.

What if the net effect is the 8th and an "Eddy Dump" for Sergio?

My feeling is there is a chess game and one moves preconditions others.

If Walsh thinks there are no impact guys at the 8 left then why not accelerate our salary dumps. Especially if DLee is commanding money and its our priority to keep him.

Remind me, but are we even allowed to trade our pick this year? (since we don't have it next year due to the Marbury trade)

Maybe we only need to draft somewhere in the 1st round?

Does someone have that rule handy?

We can trade our draft pick after we select a player.

That's pretty funny. Really I think it's just options being explored. Trading for sergio essentially says he's better then the top 8 picks, they need to throw aldridge in whaterver deal is being explored.

there's no way the deal is just Sergio for the #8 - that wouldn't match as far as value

that could change things, but i would only do it if the guy i wanna draft was off the board... that would be in effect a similar trade as the proposed Philly draft day trade to move down from #6 to #16 a year ago to dump Zach's contract, which i was in favor of.

I'd like to dump Eddy or Jeffries, but the salaries don't seem to match up.

They don't have the players coming back the other way to match salaries.

i just hope enyspree has enough handy wipes to clean up the mess after he reads this thread...

Who needs wipes when I JIZZED IN MY PANTS!!!! (I can't post vids)

I exaggerated ever possible scenerio to get Sergio. Its very possible this kid can become a Knick.....if Portland has a hard on for David Lee then its even better....Knicks have the resources to pick up a more than servicable replacement for Lee....crybaby King is gonna sob about Lee being 16/11....what does that have to do with the team.....if we can turn David Lee or any other asset into young, cheap, established players of need then the Knicks must make the move.....its about the Knicks not hard ons.

Donnie has proved he knows what he is doing and then some....the mofo traded jerome james and the dude still has an extra year and he's out for the season!!!! That right there shows he is a mastermind and can sell water to a well.

As far as Sergio....the kid can do it all....what's most impressive to me is his ability to control a full court game...his head is always up, he pushes the ball, he places the ball in guys hads riht where they can do something with it.....he can pull up and hit the transition J......yeah he can shoot....I don't know where that comes from that he can't.

Bottom line with Sergio is he understands his players....he knows who can shoot, who wants to cut, who needs to get going, who has the hot hand....I know I'm not wrong. This kid is a really good point guard. He has European flair on the handle as well....more like Tony Parker, Beno, Calderon, Baera(kid in dallas)...but more not as vanilla....hence the name Spanish Chocolate.

Mad excited....there are point guards in this draft but there are also point guards in the league collecting dust.

Btw, I think Donnie is gonna try hard to get Thabeet....Knicks will be very busy.

the only possible deal to fit this scenario would be Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw & S-Rod for the #8 & Fishlips (i believe his trade kicker would make the dollars match up, no?)... Blake & Outlaw both have expirings, but that would leave POR w/o a starting PG, unless of course they have their sights set on Curry who would make a nice backcourt tandem w/Roy... & of course they'd still have Bayless also.

Bayless is another kid that is gonna be special....if he got drafted by OKC instead of Portland he would be just as know as the kid from ucla.

I wouldn't mind Sergio to NY, but it definitely does throw a monkey wrench into our draft plans. I assume we wouldn't trade #8 (unless, as mentioned, it was a salary dump), but with all these great PG projects, why bring in Sergio to be a 3rd PG (not even including Nate)? If it's not a salary dump, there must be another trade involving the pick (for an established star or moving down) or possibly Duhon?

Lee for sergio and the No. 24.

There are other pieces to this obvous.

Then the 24, the 8, Nate for Memphis no. 2 and we take Rubio.

All spanish Back court!

nate would have to agree to go to memphis along with lee needing to agree to go to portland.

i think they'll make a play for sergio if they feel like rubio isn't going to happen (which it's not, let's be honest).
